The sun shined through the window of the lonely house on a no name street. In that little house lived a 14 year old girl, adopted of course. A man and a women left to take care of her. Abusive and nasty they were. But what you didn't know is this my...
Lacey's POV: The car ride was silent. Neither of us said a word. Nor did he turn the music on. My phone was now vibrating with texts from Amber, Lyn, Kian, and Jc. Which I didn't want to respond too. The car stopped and there was Jonah outside playing basketball. He turned and saw the headlights. He must've seen me because as soon as the car came to a stop he threw open my door and engulfed me in a hug. "What's wrong?" He said as soon as he let go. "Jc doesn't want me. No one does." I said plainly. "Well we can go inside unless you want to talk about it over basketball. My parents are on a business trip so it's just Nick and I." He said. "Basketball please." I whispered. He nodded and helped me out of the car. Nick went inside while I set my phone down and we checked the ball before scrimmaging for a while. "You two should come in. It's getting cold." We heard Nick's voice. I gave Jonah the ball and grabbed my phone walking inside. There house was nicely decorated. "I'll give you some clothes." Jonah said running up the stairs taking two at a time. "He really likes you, you know." Nick said. I nodded, "I really like him." I said, "Thank you for coming to get me." He nodded taking a sip of water, "Your welcome here anytime. Our parents are never home so." He said. I nodded and Jonah appeared holding clothes. "I'll take the floor." He said smiling at me. "Bathrooms the first door on your right." Nick said pointing to the hallway.
Lyn's POV: "I never posted that!" He shouted at me "Well it's on your fucking account!" I shouted back, "And thanks to you. Lacey's missing!" "She's probably at Jonah's or Sage's." Kian said. I turned around and pointed a finger at him, "You are not in this. And as for you." I said facing Jc again, "You made a promise to your mother that you would take care of her. Well you certainly haven't been doing very great at it. I'm disappointed. You should've never picked her up from that place. The way you treated her online and when she was here was so unexceptional." I said crossing my arms and looking down. "I can't even look at you guys." I said walking out of the room. I pulled out my phone and called Sage. I just want to make sure Lacey's ok. I need to drop off some stuff. I don't think it's ok for her to stay here. After a few rings she answered. "Hello?" She said, "Hey Sage it's Lyn I was wondering if you happened to know where Lacey was?" I asked tapping my foot impatiently against the kitchen floor. "Yeah. She's at Jonah's. If you want I can give you Jonah's older brother's number. You could contact him." She responded with. Thank god, "I would love that thanks." I said, "Ok I'll text you the number." "Ok thank you so much Sage. Have a nice night." I said picking up Lacey's backpack and basketball bag and running up to her room. I pulled out an extra duffle bag stuffing clothes inside of it and other essentials. Then I stuffed some practice stuff in her basketball bag. Grabbed her charger and computer stuff and walked out to my car. I typed in Nick's information that Sage gave me and texted him.
Me: Hey Nick, It's Lyn, one of Lacey's guardians. If it's ok can she stay with you for a few nights?
I got a pretty quick responses.
Nick Jacobs- yeah. I have no problem with that.
Me: ok I'm going to drop off some stuff then. Can I have an address?
Nick Jacobs- no problem. ***************** see you soon.
I started my car and backed out of the driveway.
Lacey's POV: "Lacey, Lyn's on her way with some stuff." I heard Nick shout from downstairs. I was currently sitting in Jonah's bedroom

It was pretty cool. (⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️) I sat on the bed while he sat on the end of his bed. "I hope you don't mind that I'm here." I said trying to break the awkward silence. "It's cool Lace. Your welcome here anytime. Besides. Now I have someone to do my training with." He said smirking at me. I let out a stifled laugh. Suddenly there was a knock on the door then Lyn came walking in. She had an upset expression on. "Hey Lyn." I said. She waved at me and Jonah before setting down three bags. My school bag, basketball bag, and a duffle bag. "I'll see you whenever you feel like coming back home. I don't blame you." She said before walking out and shutting the door behind her. "Jonah. Can you sleep here?" I said pointing to the bed. He nodded and snuggled close to me. I finally felt safe. No words could hurt me. No famous brothers could try.
