Jc's POV:
I pulled into the drive way putting the car in park. "I'll see you tomorrow." I said watching Lacey get out of the car and watch her long dark brown hair disappear inside the house. Just as the door shut I pulled out my phone and texted Kian telling him to keep an eye on her.I pulled up to the Walgreens and walked inside to the counter trying to keep my head down. I reached the counter and saw a woman in her early twenties. "Hello sir how can I help you." She said, I looked down at the sheet of paper Doctor Schiller gave me. "In here to pick up a prescription for Lacey Caylen." I said. She nodded and walked back. I stood there waiting for about five minutes before she came back holding a paper bag. "Here you go sir have a good day." I nodded and walked out towards my car. I sometimes wonder what's going through Lacey's head. What's causing her to have these panic attacks.
Lacey's POV:
I sat on the roof staring at the beautiful scenery. I never though that I would wind up living with my brother. The cool breeze was blowing my hair everywhere. Sitting on the roof was my thinking place and thousands of thoughts were running through my mind. I hate everything about myself. My eyes, my nose, my hair, my body. I have struggled with this for my whole life. But now, knowing that I had a problem, it hit full time. Eventually I just gave up and laid in bed hoping that sleep would take control of my body. After waking up from my dreadful, dreamless sleep I was relieved to just lay in bed for a few minutes listening to the music play from my tv. Eventually I realized I had to get up and get ready so I walked down the stairs and into my closet grabbing my under garments and galaxy leggings with a grey muscle tee. I walked into the bathroom and took a shower.
After repeating the same routine that I have done for the past few days I left my hair natural, did my make up, then walked out of the bathroom taking my phone with me. I slipped on my converse then made my way downstairs to see Jj, Kian, Lyn, and Jc all sitting at the table. "Lacey. Unfortunately I have to talk to you about something." Jc said as I sat at the table. A wave of nervousness ran through my body. Oh no, I'm in trouble. He probably doesn't want me anymore so he's telling me about adoption. "Lacey. As you know it's the end of August. And school starts September 10th." He said, then I put the pieces together. He wanted me to go to public school. My muscles tensed. I automatically knew I had no say in this. "You go to the orientation on Friday then you start school in a week." I nodded looking down. "Here." He said taking out a pill bottle and handing me if with a glass of water that he had sitting next to him. I groaned swallowing it. "I can take you school shopping today." Lyn said. I nodded then stood up from the table. "I'll grab my stuff and we can leave." Lyn said. I stood by the door waiting for the red headed girl. She finally came down and we walked out to the car.
Pulling up to a big building called office max, Lyn pulled into a parking spot and turned off her car. "You ready?" Se asked. I nodded getting out. We walked into the huge building in silence. "You know school isn't that bad." Lyn said trying to make me feel better. "That's not working." I mumbled loud enough for her to hear. "I tried." She said laughing a little.
One week later
My stomach turned as I heard my phone alarm go off. 5:45 I set it for. The first day of school. I got up and made my bed then grabbed my phone off the charger and walked down the stairs. I walked in my closet and picked out black skinny jeans and a white muscle tee that said 'smile' in black letters. Then I walked into my bathroom plugging my phone into the sound system and then I hoped in the shower.
After I decided I looked presentable I slipped on my Nike high tops, grabbed my backpack, and walked downstairs. I saw Amber cooking something. It smelt good, but I wasn't a big fan of her. "Morning Lacey. Jc isn't feeling good so I'm gonna take you to school." I mentally groaned as she set eggs and toast in front of me with a glass of orange juice. After finishing my breakfast I got into her silver Ford Focus. The car ride was silent. Then she pulled up in front of the high school that I now attended. "I'll see you after school." She said smiling then unlocked the door. I got out and saw Sage waiting by the doors for me. She waved and waited for me to get closer. "Come on we have a half an hour before school starts I'll help you with your schedule." She said then we walked in together. My stomach churned at the sight of all the people. I took a deep breath and followed Sage to the locker area where me and her ended up having a locker next to each other because my last name was Caylen and hers was Castle.
"Ok class. I have set up a seating chart and the person you sit next to will be your partner for the first semester." Said the older woman who was my English teacher. She started listing names then finally I heard mine. "Lacey Caylen and Jonah Jacobs."
