Lacey's POV:
I stood in front of the mirror in black skinny jeans and a white button up shirt. My hair was down and I had black and white vans. It was time for awards. Which means I went home tomorrow. There was a knock on my bedroom door. "Come in." I said. I continued to stare at the mirror. Am I good enough. Will I ever be good enough. "Lace. We gotta go or we'll be late for the reservations." He said. I nodded grabbing my cell phone. "Let's go." We walked out to the limo and was on our way to a restaurant with a really confusing French name."Ok lady and gentle man, as you know the intense training these past month have help you in so many ways. I have seen so much improvement. Like Andy and his cross overs." There was a light chuckle while a kid was clapped on the back, probably Andy, "Now shall we get on with the awards?" Everyone started clapping. "First of all I would like to award trophies to The Curry team for a great undefeated season. Come on up." He said, my team got up and we walked on stage. He congratulated each of us, shook our hands, and handed us our trophy. But when he got to me he stopped. "Gentlemen. I hope you learned from watching this young woman play. She worked with speed, agility, poetry, and teamwork. She never took shots she knew she was going to miss and gave the ball to other players instead of hogging it. Gentlemen. I preset you MVP of the club, Lacey Jacobs. He handed me the trophy and an a plaque that had my name engraved on it. Applause filled the room and my team whistled and whooped. I smile and walked off stage.
We got back to the room and I started stuffing things into my suitcase. Then after finishing putting things into my suitcase I laid in the bed for last time. Then slowly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning
I woke up to Jonah sitting on my stomach. "Get up ya log!" I shouted shoving him off of me. He laughed and walked out knowing I was awake. I got up throwing on my black underarmer sweatpants and a loose v-neck t-shirt. I ran a brush through my hair quickly before slipping on my tennis shoes and grabbing my phone then suitcases. Jonah was waiting there for me and shook his head. I was ready to go home but I also didn't want to leave. Then I shut the door to the dorm and followed Jonah down the hallways for the last time. Before I even knew it, we had to board the plane to Los Angeles. I waved good bye to Steph and sat in my seat next to Jonah. "Do you think we'll get invited back?" I asked before closing my eyes too sleep. Jonah grunted then leaned his head on my shoulder, then I fell asleep.
The black Range Rover that I have t seen in a few months pulled up to the curb. Nick jumped out sprinting towards us, almost tackling us to the ground. "You guys are finally home." He mumbled. I laughed a little hugging Nick back. "I can't wait for you to get home!" He exclaimed. Then he let go and helped us put out bags in the car. Then we got in. And for the very first time since leaving for Massachusetts that I would sleep in my own bed.
I woke up to my alarm that I have set for 8 to get rid of jet lag. I got up and took a shower , then slipped on a regular black t-shirt and grey skinny jeans with my black vans. I left my hair natural and ran downstairs to see two familiar people sitting at the counter. "Sam? Sage?" I asked, they turned around and smiled. Sage ran and hugged me tightly, then right before I was about to suffocate she let go. "I missed you." She said pouting. I chuckled and walked passed her "Where's Jonah?" I asked, Sam shrugged. "Probably playing basketball. I swear you guys are never going to get enough." Sage said. I laughed "Well we gotta get going. Hopefully we'll see you soon." Sam said walking over to hug me then so did Sage and then I watched them walk out of my house. Probably towards Sam's sisters car. I groaned and walked outside to see Jonah shooting free throws. I walked out and grabbed a ball out of the cart and started dribbling. "Are you happy to be home?" I asked taking a shot and making it clean through the net. "Yeah but school starts in a week." He said going in for a lay up. "Yeah. Sadly." I say back. It was silent, "Is Nick at work?" I ask. He nodded retrieving the ball and putting it back into the bucket. "I'm gonna go get dressed I forgot. I have my drivers thingy today." I nodded. Jonah was older than me so I couldn't take it yet.
I watched Jonah leave with Sam. Sage was with her parents shopping and I had nothing to do. I put my hands in my jean pockets and walked downtown. Before I knew it I felt a hard impact and I fell to the ground landing on my back. "Watch where your going." He spat. I looked up to see a boy looking at me with fire in his eyes. He had a sleeve of tattoos on one arm and a tattoo sticking out on the side of his neck. I scoffed, "Why don't you watch out where your going because you ran into me." I said standing up and dusting off my pants. Then out of the scowl he had on his face, it suddenly turned into a smirk. "I like you. The names Henry."
