Lacey's POV:
"Get back in that damn room you bitch. You walk around here like you own the damn place!" My ears were ringing and my body was numb. I stumbled up to the tiny room that was supposedly 'mine' even though all it was, was two pillows and a blanket. I opened the door climbed in then shut it. I spent most of my life by myself. I know no ones coming for me and for the next 4 years I have to deal with it. I shift slightly making the floor creak. I suddenly froze in place. I didn't want to get yelled at for disrupting the tv. My long chocolate brown hair was hanging infront of my face and I heard the door bell ring. "LACEY GET THE DAMN DOOR!" I scrambled out of the small room and down the stairs. I peered through the peak hole before opening the door. There stood a girl clutching a binder to her chest, she was dressed formal. Meaning her brown hair was in a tight bun, she wore a white button up and black dress pants with silver heels. I opened the door slowly. "Hello. I'm her to speak to the. Uh." she took a quick glance at her binder "Samuels family." I looked up at her then let her in the house. "Let me go get them." I said quietly leaving her by the door. I walked to the living room and peaked my head in. My aunt and uncle were watching tv. "Sir, there's a lady here to see you." I said. He gave me the evil eye, "is there now?" He said. I nodded. "She's by the door." I said. He groaned and got up scampering out of the living room. "You are so lucky we decided to take you in." My aunt said pointing a long thin finger at me. I nodded walking out of the room and towards my uncle and the mysterious lady but I stopped when I heard arguing. "But sir. The mom gave full rights to the boy when he turned 18. He's now 23." "I don't care! He's irresponsible. He makes stupid videos for a living." My uncle spat. "And what do you do for the girl? Huh. It looks like you rarely feed her. Her hair is dirty and full of snarls. She looks like a lost puppy and has bruises everywhere I'm almost convinced you beat her!" The lady exclaimed. "I need her around here so I don't have to do chores. That's why you can't take her." He said, "but technically she's not your problem anymore. She's Mr. Caylen's. He has agreed to take her in in two days. If you decide not to agree I will get the government involved." She said, "the government ay? Do what. Take my house?" My uncle replied. "No. Take the girl. Now. Here's a check for the last 14 years you've taken care of her. Mr. Caylen will be here in two days. He will inform me if she's not ready. Good day Mr. Samuels." Then the door slammed. I scooted closer into my corner and uncle stomped passed me into the living room. I ran upstairs to my bedroom and climbed under the blanket. I closed my eyes and hoped to fall asleep fast. Because sleeping is better than being away. My aunt and uncle aren't in my dreams.

Two days later

"Hold still." My aunt said holding a weird looking thing in her hand with lots of little sharp looking objects sticking out of a round thing that was connected to a handle. She ran it through my hair. "Stop your hurting me!" I exclaimed but then it was over and my hair was silky soft. "What's going on sir?" I asked my uncle who was tying his tie. "You'll be leaving. I don't think I'll ever see you again." He said. A hint of sadness was in his voice. Why was he sad. He hated me. There was a knock at the door. My uncle scurried off to answer it while I stayed in my seat. Waiting for him to bring this mysterious person in. "Sir. Nice to meet you I'm Jc Caylen."
