It is the best feeling when you know that you are extremely important to the same person who is important to you.
As soon as I open the door to my room something hits me. I catch it and look at it to find its a dress.
"What the hell Hana. You could wrinkle the fall!" Isra yells at Hana who had thrown the dress on me.
"Its net Isra. It doesn't get wrinkled. And I was pissed. We spent whole day finding her this beautiful dress and she doesn't even have the courtesy to be at home on time. She knows we get ready together!" Hana glares at me while saying this and I give her an apologetic look.
"Sorry girls. Don't worry I will just take five minutes."
"No! you go take a shower first. Weren't you guys gone for your weird fighting hobbies?" Isra says as she turns to me wearing a gorgeous grey dress. Its only now that I notice how pretty she looks.
"Oh my God Isra. You look SO PRETTY!" I say and she grins.
"Why thank you." She curtsies royally making me smile. At least someone is happy.
Few hours later I am on the dance floor with my elder sister's boyfriend. Imagine our discomfort. Neither of us wanted to dance but Isra came to me and admonished me for not keeping my promise by not enjoying and keeping Hamza busy. So I.. yes I the girl had to ask him for a dance.
"Ayana?" He yells in my ear because the music is so loud that I wouldn't be able to hear otherwise.
"Yeah?" I shout back.
"How many dances will it take to make Miles jealous? Because I can see that you are not at all comfortable dancing with me." He chuckles.
"I think its enough. I hate dancing anyway." I tell him and drag him to the bar which is just confined to its name because nothing close to alcoholic is being served there. The only good thing about school parties. No alcohol allowed!
I take my juice and ask him what he will take. I ask him again but he is not paying attention. I look to what he is focusing on and no surprise. He is looking at Miles dancing with Isra and the look on Hamza's face tells me that he wants to crush his bones. I supress my laugh. Boys and their protectiveness.
"How much do you like Isra?" I ask Hamza after a while.
"I love her Ayana."She doesn't though. She has indirectly told me that our relationship is not forever and we can break up as soon as we get bored of each other."
Well she is a bitch!
"She is bold and confident, clever and innocent. Just perfect. I really don't think I will ever get bored of her." He smiles as his eyes settles on his girlfriend now talking to a group of people, standing with Miles. Well I want to punch her right now. How can she possibly lie to Hamza. How can she ditch him because she thinks coming with a more popular guy will help her win the crown?
"Can I tell you something Ayana?" He asks.
"Sure." I smile at him.
"I think Asher likes you."
I start choking on my drink as soon as I hear those words from him.
He pats my back to help me recover but the small attack of cough lasts a little longer than necessary.
"Are you drunk?!" I ask him as I recover myself.
"Your friends don't see it neither do you because all they have ever seen is you two fighting. But you should see his face whenever Miles flirts with you and you give him a shy smile. I told this to Isra too but she said I am insane." He chuckles. "But I know he does."
