(xxxiii) Book 1: Chapter 27- Revealation

ASHER'S POV

My heart is beating so fast since last night. I swear she left me more confused than I ever thought I could be.

'Do you feel it?' She asked me. I was frozen in my place unable to decipher what was going on in her head, or mine. While she kept moving closer to me till we were almost touching. For a second I couldn't believe its her.

She is shy and gets nervous so soon. Blushes even when I comment something inappropriate or when I move even slightly closer. So it's obvious to be surprised at her such behavior.

But what's most important is; what did she exactly mean by asking if I feel it too.

Was she hinting she feels for me?

Well of course she was. I am not a two year old. And I am certainly not like her who can't take obvious hints. But then why is she dating my brother?

I could have asked her and cleared everything up right that moment but I was suddenly afraid that if she means what I think she does then what will I do? I love her thats true, but I can't be with her for now.

See, This is how coward I am! She being a girl, and well a very shy one on that, pulled out such a brave move. While I, who was dying to question her about what she meant and if she likes me, couldn't ask a thing.

I was scared. Very scared.

But after this storm of feelings in my head since then, I know one thing. I don't care about the consequences. I don't care if Miles and she are together. I am going to go and confess my feelings to her.

The sooner the better.

I take the last sip of my coffee and get up to leave for a run.

"Hey! Up so early today?" Miles asks me as he comes out of his room.

"Yeah. Going for a run."

"Well wait five minutes. We will leave together." He asks and I give in.

After few minutes we are out of the house and Miles is eating my brain again. Guess how?

By talking about Kitten obviously. Sometimes I feel like he can read my mind. Whenever I am thinking about her he makes sure to remind me that I am out of the picture and she is with him now.

"...You know she knows about the engagement part too." He says.

"Yeah. She told me."

"Then she must have told you she wants it soon." He says and I stop.

"What?!"

"Ops, sorry. Don't mention it to her yet. She wanted that we tell this to everyone together."

"Why would she lie to me? She said she is against the idea." I almost yell.

"Well, she must have wanted you all to think it's impossible so that the surprise is much more surprising." He reasons.

"It sounds a lot stupid to me. I mean this is not a kind of surprise one expects."

"Exactly." He shrugs.

"Then why are you ruining it by telling me!"

"Oh come on you are my brother and well the only real friend I have here." 

"I need to ask her." I say.

"Oh please Asher. Don't man! You will know when Afifa is here. She plans to tell this after we find Afifa."

I grind my teeth and grip him by his collar, "You dare not talk about Afifa. We shall see what Kitten will say after she finds out you were involved in the kidnapping!"
