(xxxv) Book 1: Chapter 28- I break into pieces

ASHER'S POV.

How can she possibly find out? My immediate suspicion hits Lauren. It must be her who told Kitten that Miles was the person who made the kidnapping possible and that the reason he came here was not to meet me as he claimed and thence stay with his younger brother but actually it was to spy on Uncle Zaroon.

Few days ago, Miles involvement was unveiled to me somehow. As I had no time to collect evidences for confirmation of my suspicions so I directly talked about everything with Zayn. After formulating a plan with Zayn, we sort of abducted my dear brother and locked him at Zayn's farmhouse. I thought I might need to be a lot harsh and cross limits to make him speak but my sweet brother was too easy to get scared to death and spill the beans.

Whatever Miles told us while being in  custody was shocking as well as perturbing. I recall his confession as I make my mind to take his blame on myself in front of Kitten. 

"I did not want to come here, it was dad who repeatedly told me that I need to spend a year with Asher." Miles had told me. "I thought it was because dad was suddenly in love with his younger son and to be honest I was getting jealous but my jealousy too lasted merely few days. As soon as I came here dad told me the real reason he was sending me here. He said all I needed to do was somehow get deeply in touch with Zaroons, date Ayana, convince Emir that I am a trustworthy person and when all of it is under control he will use Elena to convince Zaroon to get Ayana and I engaged." 

Zayn punched him straight in the face after hearing just this much and I couldn't even imagine how much of a bitch Elena is. I pushed Zayn away and signaled him to keep in control till we have him give us all the information.

"Why is Elena helping dad?" I asked him.

"That is what even I don't know. Sure she is in no need of money. Dad must have found some way to convince her but she is helping dad to an extent you can't even imagine. In fact dad told me to consult her if any problem comes in the plan and she will handle it. Do you remember Ayana finding someone spying on her? It was all framed by Elena. In fact Elena was the person who kept spying on Ayana all this time."

I remembered Kitten telling me how scared she would get at times that she felt the need of keeping a knife under her pillow. I remember she said she told mom dad but her mom said that Kitten needed to see a psychiatrist. God! only if she could imagine it was her dear step mother. 

"The reason dad sent me here was that he had lost his trust in Elena. Elena was doing everything in a calculated way that is why she was taking so much time, she was trying to give dad what he needs and save her husband and Emir as dad was concerned with one of the two daughters somehow."

"What can dad possibly want from Afifa?" I ask.

"Dad doesn't tell me everything. I swear I don't know a thing about it. All I did was what dad asked me to."Miles answers.

"Tell me everything you did as per his instructions."

"Everything. Coming here, dating Ayana, proposing her, getting close to you all, living with you and Jenna instead of getting my own place. All was because he wanted me to." He says and then continues after hesitating for a while,"There was although something significant that I did just a day before Afifa was kidnapped."
