Are you coming? My phone buzzed in my pocket
Obviously I grinned down at my phone
I stood on the porch, straightening out my uniform and rang the doorbell
“Ashley” Mrs. Munk met me with a small smile, “I hear your big game is today?”
For some odd reason, Brad had vouched for me with coach and as a result, I was playing in the Trifecta’s today
“Yes” I gulped
“You better bring a win home for us, champ” I heard mayor Munk yell from the den
“Sure will” I laughed
“OMG, text me if there are any hotties” Cynthia smiled appearing in the doorway
“Oh God” Lucas said from behind her. I broke into a huge grin at the sight of him. He was wearing black jeans and a red shirt that read ‘I’m with the Soccer Champ’
“Cute shirt” I laughed
“Isn’t it? I totally helped him pick it out” Cynthia marveled
“Yeah, yeah. Don’t wait up” Lucas said pushing through his family, “Are you excited?”
“Definitely” I said looking over his shoulder at his mom
Lucas grabbed my duffel bag and hoisted it on his shoulder
“Have a great game, Ashley” Mrs. Munk smiled beginning to shut the door, “And maybe, you can come back for dinner?”
I stared at her shocked
“Uhm…Yeah, I’d love that” I stammered. She gave me a warm smile and closed the door the rest of the way
“What was that?” I regarded Lucas
“She realizes how happy you make me” he grinned kissing me on the forehead. Today I hadn’t worn a stitch of makeup and had thrown my hair into a sloppy bun
“Even with this rats nest I call hair?” I asked as he opened the passenger door of his car for me. He hopped into the car and smiled at me
“Especially with that rats nest you call hair” he placed a kiss on my cheek and started the car.
That, I remember, was the beginning to an awesome day. The Trifecta’s, although grueling, turned out to be a tremendous win for BV high, with us bringing home the title
I don’t remember ever being as happy as I was at that moment when I scored the winning goal.
Actually, I do.
It was even better that same night when I went over to Lucas’ for celebratory dinner. It was the way he looked at me and the way he gave me those little looks that topped my winning goal. Nothing could compare to the feeling of knowing that I had that one special somebody who knew me for who I was and took me for it.
“What, do I have pepperoni on my face?” He grinned catching me staring at him
“No” I laughed, “your perfect”

THIS IS IT GUYS! THE END TO HEARTBREAK SEASON! IT WAS SO HARD TO FINISH IT BECASUE I WAS SOOO SCARED! THIS IS LITERALLY THE FIRST EVER STORY I HAVE FINSIHED AND IM JUST SO PROUD OF IT.
