Chapter 36

"Like Riker physically got off of the stage to help Ross onto the stage, then he got down again to help me up, then got down again to help me down and over the gate. Ross was so excited, I mean so was I but he's still all freaked out by it."

"What are you doing with Ross' shirt?"

"Well since both sides were signed, I'm getting the people who are going to frame it to cut in half, so both sides of the shirt will be seen hanging up." Viky nodded and got the salad fro the fridge. "Hello!"

My eyes widened as I looked at Viky. "Please don't tell me that that is who I think it is." Viky slowly nodded as I cursed under my breath. "Hello, Viky." Elizabeth walked into the kitchen and gave Viky a hug. I leant up against the corner of the bench. "Oh, Alli, you're here." I nodded. "Yeah, well Ross is my kid too."

"I thought this was a family lunch?"

"Well, Ross is your family which makes Alli family too. Plus she has known Nash for ages so it was only right to invite her." Viky stood next to me and smiled. "I'll be in the lounge room." I looked at Viky with tears forming in my eyes. "I'm going to go."

"Please don't." I shook my head. "I'm clearly not wanted here."

"Alright, well drive safely. I'll get Hayes to drop Ross home after yeah?"

"Let him keep him for the night." Viky nodded and gave me a hug. "Thanks for your help this morning." I smiled and grabbed my bag. "Tell Ross I'll see him tomorrow." I walked out the sliding doors and out the back gate and went to my car.

I tried to unlock my car but then I remembered we came in Hayes'. And I know it sounds like I cry heaps, because I do but I started crying. I wiped my eyes and started walking. Halfway up the street I heard someone running behind me so I started walking quicker. The person grabbed my wrist and spun me around. I saw that it was Nash and just cried into his chest.

"Look this may make matters worse but you need to come back..."

"No way am I going back into that house. Nash I don't know what I did but she hates me."

"Well you need to come back because Hayes is going off of his nut yelling at Mum. Viky backing him up." I groaned and turned around and ran back with Nash.

We walked into the house to see Skylynn sitting at the curl of the stairway, Jai and Ross sitting next to her and Debbie on her lap. All three of them crying and watching. "MUM, MAKE IT STOP." Ross ran down the three stairs and gave me a hug. "Ross you need to stay Skylynn." He nodded and ran back up to Skylynn.

Nash pulled me to where Hayes and Viky were standing. "YOU NEED TO STOP BEING A BITCH AND CONTROL YOURSELF. SHE IS ALL THREE OF YOUR SON'S FRIEND AND SHE WILL BE IN YOUR LIFE FOR A LONG TIME."

"SHE BROKE MY SON'S HEART. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE HER."

"MUM, EVERYONE GOES THROUGH A BROKEN HEART. MINE JUST AFFECTED ME MORE BECAUSE SHE RAN AWAY." I stood behind Hayes and listened in. "YES AND DON'T FORGET THAT SHE RAN OFF TO ENGLAND BECAUSE SHE WAS PREGNANT WITH YOUR BABY. MAKING TWO OF YOUR BEST FRIENDS KEEP IT FROM YOU. WHAT KIND OF RETARDED PERSON DOES THAT BENJAMIN?"

"I KEPT IT FROM HIM BECAUSE I WAS SCARED. I was scared that he would leave me. Terrified that he would kick me out of the house. I was younger. Less mature and to young." Everyone had stopped to watch me. Viky walked over behind me. "She's my best friend and whether you like her or not she will ALWAYS be in my life. So she will always be invited to the twins birthdays."

Nash nodded and pulled Viky into his side and me into the other. "I have always looked at Alli as my little sister. Even though I have one, she will always be in my life." I smiled up at Nash as he tightened his grip around me for a few seconds. Ross came running down the steps and stood directly in front of Elizabeth. "I love my Mummy and that will never change." He ran over to Viky and she picked him up giving him a hug.

Debbie and Jai ran down and stood in front of Nash. Skylynn walked over and grabbed onto Debbie and Jai's hand. Hayes looked back and smiled.

"I will never let Alli out of my life. You don't know any of the stuff I have put her through. I will never let her go and not only because she is the mother of my son, but because I will always love her. And I will NEVER let her out of my life, whether you like it or not. She has always been there for me. Like the time I hit her when we got in an argument and I left the house. I wasn't answering my phone and when I did she sounded the most worried. The one who wanted me home, even though I hit she still cared for my well being." Hayes walked over to Viky and grabbed Ross off of her, then walked over to me and wrapped his spare arm around my waist.

Elizabeth took a step back, taking in all the information. "Is that why you hate me? Because I ran off to England." Elizabeth nodded. "It was the wrong thing to do Alli."

"I understand that, but I did it..."

"I know why you did it. You shouldn't have. Do you understand how much pain Hayes was in. How much pain I was in seeing how much pain he was in."

"No I don't know that, but I will. I have a son, who will go through heartbreak. I ran away because and let me finish. Because I didn't want Hayes to have to stop doing what he loves and have to look after a baby. A baby, which dealt with colic, no sleeping, and screaming until he threw up. Hayes didn't have to go through that. Well he had an option to go through that but I made his decision for him. I know now, that he would have chosen to help out. But I did what I did, and I feel bad for that."

"Alli, I feel horrible. I didn't realise you were doing that for Hayes. But I greatly appreciate that." I nodded and leant back up against Nash's back. "I'm going to go now. I guess I'll see you around at family things." I turned around and looked at Ross. "You're staying at Dad's tonight okay. I think Ale and Jack are flying tomorrow so I might need to pick them up." Ross nodded, gave me a hug then ran off to play with the twins. I said goodbye to everyone and walked out of the house.

"Alli." I turned around to see Hayes walking out of the gate. "Let me at least drive you." I nodded and got into the passenger seat. Driving home was uncomfortable. I was still worked up with what had happened and Hayes kept stealing glances at me while he was driving. He pulled up at my apartment and turned the car off. "Thanks for the ride." He nodded and looked at me. "What?" I watched as he shook his head smiling. "Just how different you are." I smiled and leant over the middle of the car and kissed his cheek. "You are different to, and you should get back to the house."

I got out of the car and watched as he drove away. I turned around and walked into the apartment building. Once I got into my apartment, my phone started ringing and Jack's face popped up. I answered and sat down on the couch taking off my shoes.

J: Hello

A: What's up?

J: Alex and I will be landing around 10 tomorrow.

A: Okay. You could have just texted me.

J: Well I... you know I am Jack

A: I have to go, I need to do some stuff around the house before you get here.

J: See ya Alls

A: Bye Jack

I hung up the phone and walked into the kitchen. Grabbing a mug, I boiled the jug and made myself a cup of tea. Sitting down in front of the TV I put on Netflix which Hayes had installed for me the day before. I put on New Girl and sat down to watch it, halfway through the episode I fell asleep.
