Chapter 41

I woke up from the sound of doors opening and closing. I looked to my right and saw Luke still asleep. I got out of bed, putting Luke's t-shirt on. I shut the bedroom door behind me and walked into the kitchen. "Ross, what are you..." Hayes was standing in the kitchen next to Ross writing a note. "Hey?"

"Hey, I'm pretty sure I told you that I was picking him up this morning."

"Yeah you did, sorry had a rough night last night."

"I can see that." I glared and bent down to Ross' level. "Have you done your teeth?"

"No."

"Go do them." He ran off down the hallway. "Is that really appropriate?"

"What?"

"Getting it on while a young child is in the other room."

"Oh please don't lecture me about what is appropriate or not."

"He's my son to and I would rather not having him know stuff to early."

"Yeah, and from what I've heard you and Amelia really go at it. At least I keep it down. Now shut up before you wake Luke up." Hayes rolled his eyes and picked up Ross' bag. "Here, this is from me."

"Why don't you just grow up and come, oh wait, your probably to busy letting Luke stick his penis in you." I heard someone gasp from behind me and I turned around to see Luke holding Ross who looked like he could cry. "Ross." He wiggled down and ran off to his room. I turned back around and faced Hayes. "You DO NOT come into MY house and tell me what I can and can't do, what I would rather be doing then what I should be doing. You do not have a say in my life anymore. WE are NOT together and you will NEVER set foot in this house again unless Luke or I invite you. IF you do, we are going straight back to court and we have to go through that all over again. So if you don't mind, I now have to deal with my child who is crying because you couldn't face the facts." I turned around and went to walk to Ross' room but something stopped me. "He's my CHILD too."

"Well if he's your child why can't you keep your mouth shut." I looked at Luke. "Can you go and talk to him please?" He nodded and walked into Ross' room, I waited till the door was shut to continue. "You say his your child but you don't do the dirty work of parenting. You never deal with the tantrums; never have to deal with the hitting, kicking, punching matches. You NEVER have to deal with the sickness, where he's up all night vomiting. NEVER have to clean up the vomit in the bed, or the pee. You never did any of the dirty/hard work. I had to organise what school he was doing because every time I asked you, you just replied with a question mark. And what about yesterday, if he is your kid too, where were you when he fell in the pool. Where were you when he was jumping in with the twins? He noticed Hayes, so don't think that you snuck out quietly and no one noticed because he asked me when you left, Amelia did too. So congratulations, I think you deserve the biggest jerk award. Now if you don't mind, you go into that bedroom and apologise to your son and then walk out of this apartment. I will bring Ross to the house and I will be there, because apparently that's what you want, probably so that you don't need to do it all on your own." Hayes put Ross' bag down on the counter and walked into his room, he said sorry then walked back out. "I'll see you later then?" I nodded and shut the door when he left. I leant up against the door and slid down it till I hit the bottom and cried.

"Mum?" I looked up and saw Ross standing there with Luke looking worried. "I'm okay." I stood up and walked over to him. "Can I have a hug?" Ross wrapped his arms around my thighs while Luke wrapped his around my shoulders. "Alright, you need to go and put something on that is more respectable than that and then we'll get going." Ross nodded and ran into his room. "Your going?"
