Forever?

Chapter 26

Being back home has been great. All the boys have been helping me look after Ross, and babysat him when I have my days out on my own, or with Viky. Most of the boys have gotten over the whole moving thing except for one. Hayes. When he comes over to see Ross he comes inside, says hello, take Ross, and then says he will bring him back at whatever time he decides. Yeah I know, I should talk to him but I don't want to force him to talk to me if he doesn't want to. "Ross, what are you doing?" I walked into his room where he is sitting on the floor taking every single toy out of his toy box.

KNOCK KNOCK

"HAYES?"

"YEAH."

"IT'S OPEN." I heard the door shut and I started to pack up all the toys. "What happened in here?"

"What does it look like?" Hayes smiled and picked up Ross. "Hey buddy." I picked up one of Ross' toys and it started singing. "Oh shut it." Hayes chuckled. "He didn't sleep last night, did he?" I shook my head. "No more than any other night." Hayes sighed and put Ross down and started to help pack up the toys. "I can do it."

"But I want to help."

"Alright. What time are you dropping Ross back."

"You will see."

"I kind of need to know because I need to go clothes shopping today and I need to know what time I should be back by."

"Well you can clothes shopping another day because today all of us are going to the Zoo."

"Hayes, I would love to tag along, but I really need to go clothes shopping. Most of my clothes have stains on them." Hayes shook his head. "You're coming and that's final, then tomorrow we'll go clothes shopping together because I need to go anyway." I finally gave in. "Fine. Watch Ross for 20 minutes while I get ready. Also help yourself to anything, not that we have much." Hayes nodded and I walked out of Ross' room and into mine.

I went into my chest of drawers and pulled out a light black Rolling Stones tank, I paired that with a pair of light denim jeans and my black converse. I put my hair up in a messy ponytail and put my H necklace on and grabbed a backpack throwing a jumper in, nappies, spare clothes, wallet and a few other things.

I walked back to Ross' room to see Ross dressed and ready to go. "Lets go." Hayes stood up and picked Ross up. I let the boys out first and locked the door. Once I got out to the car Hayes had just finished buckling Ross into his car seat. "I just need to grab my sunglasses from my car I'll be back in a minute."

Once we were moving Ross fell asleep almost immediately. "He's asleep." I looked at Hayes. "Thank the fucking lord." Hayes smiled and moved one hand on to my knee. "I wanted this to be a first date, but if you don't count it because we brought Ross with us, I completely understand."

"This is the most perfect first date." I smiled and listened to the soft music playing on the radio. We got to the Zoo and Hayes got Ross out of his seat as quickly and softly as he could. "I should have brought the stroller."

"No, I don't care carrying him, plus when I took him to the Aquarium with the twins and Nash last week he wanted to walk most of the time." I smiled and grabbed hold of Hayes spare hand. "He looks like you when you sleep." Hayes laughed. "Do you look at me when I sleep?" I nodded. "You always look so peaceful. I can take in all your features without you making some stupid comment."

"Well, if it makes you feel any better I watch you sleep to." I smiled and swung our arms back and forth. "Hi, how many?"

"Two please." The lady nodded and printed out the tickets. I beat Hayes to paying. "Thank You."

"Have a good day." We walked into the Zoo and looked at the map. "I could have paid."

"You were holding Ross." Hayes shrugged and decided where to go.

By the time we were done at the Zoo it was 3 in the afternoon. Ross was so tired that his eyes kept drooping and Hayes was just as tired because he kept chasing Hayes around and carrying him everywhere. "I'll drive." Hayes didn't protest and just got into the passenger seat. I drove home and once I got home Ross was asleep in his seat. "I'll bring him upstairs then go."

"You can stay the night if you want?"

"Are you sure?" I nodded. "Yeah we'll just get Pizza for dinner then go to bed." Hayes carried Ross into the apartment and put him down in his cot. I was looking at the Pizza menu when Hayes slipped his arms around my waist. "What pizza do you want?"

"Alli will you be my girlfriend again?"

"Yes." I turned around and gave Hayes a kiss. "Now what pizza do you want because I'm hungry?"

"Cheese?" I nodded smiling. I ordered then I went and sat down on the couch next to Hayes who was watching a football game. I recognised the team. "You don't play anymore do you?" He shook his head then pointed his finger towards the TV. Sitting in the crowd was Tiffany. She looked so miserable. There was a knock on the door and I got up getting the pizza. "Thank You."

Once we were done with the pizza, Hayes and I went straight to bed.

Ross started crying at 3 in the morning. I got up and walked into his room. "Hey, it's okay I'm here." I put my hand in his cot and patted his bottom. "You need to stop crying because you dad is just across the hall and he wants to sleep." Ross slowly went back to sleep and I went back into my room. "That was cute."

"Shit. Did he wake you?" Hayes nodded. "We still haven't improved in sleeping. He'll wake up in like two minutes." Hayes and I just laid in bed waiting for Ross to wake up again. Soon enough he did. "I'll go and get him." I waited for Hayes to come back into the room with Ross. When he did, a lot of guilt hit me. I kept Hayes away from his son for 1 year and one month. That's horrible. "And here's mummy." I smiled and gave Ross a kiss on his forehead. "I just need to get a glass of water." I jumped up out of bed and walked to the kitchen. Once I got my glass of water I sat down on the counter and slowly drank it. Once I was done with the glass of water, I bursted into tears. "Alli, what's wrong?" I didn't open my eyes to look at Hayes. "I'm a horrible person." I heard Hayes sigh. "I'll be back in 30 seconds." I heard Hayes walk out of the kitchen and him walk back in. He sat down on the bench next to me. "Why do you think that?"

"Because I am. I kept you from your son, your child. You didn't even know. I also ran away. I didn't tell anyone but Shawn, Matt and Viky where I was. You guys must have been so worried." Hayes wrapped his arms around me because I made myself even more upset. "You left because you thought it was the right thing to do. I respect that. Yes, we were worried, but once Matt and Shawn said that you were okay. We were okay." I nodded and looked up at him. "You need to stop overthinking."

"How do you know about that?"

"Viky told me about it the other day. You used to ring her up, and cry because you've overthought. That can't be good for you Alli." I stopped crying and wiped my eyes. "It's not good for you. That's why I'm going to get help." Hayes looked at me shocked. "I can help you. Whenever you need to talk, you can talk to me. If I'm out with someone you ring me and I'll come home. Alli I want to help you." I gave Hayes a hug and a kiss. "Okay. But I need to ask you a question first." Hayes nodded and hopped off the counter and stood in between my legs. "Do you want to move in here? With Ross and I. I understand if you don't but..."

"Yes. I would love to." I smiled and gave Hayes a kiss. "I'll start packing tomorrow." I smiled, thinking about having a perfect family.
