#17 I NEED YOUR SHOULDERS

Angel's POV

We waited outside the room for someone to show up and disclose that Vuyo is out of harm. Every second passed like standing on pins. At last someone opened the door. It was the nurse Andrea.

On seeing her, all of us garnered around her to hear some good news. Her face didn't have its usual glaze. My heartbeat was going crazy.
Andrea told , actually announced the group,

" Please please everyone be calm. Doctor has given first aid treatments to Vuyo and we have kept her in ventilation. Nothing can be confirmed until she gains her conscious. We will hope for the best. Jesus will help that little girl. We have did our best. Just pray to God. Only he can do miracles. "

Saying that she went in. All of us were glancing at each other with sad faces. Even the little children were fed up without understanding what happened to their friend.

The sisters asked the children to leave the place without making noises which may disturb Vuyo. Few of the older people who stood there went in to see Vuyo once. They were followed by the sisters.

Sister Neoline asked the other sisters to gather the children in the chapel after an hour for the prayer. It was a prayer meeting specially for Vuyo and her health.

Now everyone left the place. Lucy and Andrea too left to refresh themselves. I went in to see that sweet little girl. I didn't understand why God is punishing that innocent child.

There I saw that little girl lying on the bed covered in a blanket and with a oxygen mask over her face. Seeing the always active child to lay their still and weak made my heart weary.

I went near her and took her small hand and held it within my palm. My eyes became wet.

Vuyo dear.. You're gonna be alright.. Come back soon.. We all are waiting for you.. Please do come back...

I caressed her hair and kissed her forehead and I turned to leave. At that moment only I perceived Dave sitting opposite to Vuyo's bed.

I have never seen his face like I'm seeing now. His eyes were blank and his face showed that his heart was tearing apart. He was totally exhausted.

" Dave.. Are you alright? "

I know he was not. No reaction from him. May be he didn't hear me. I shook his hand.

" Dave.. Dave.. "

Suddenly he came back to senses like he has woke up from deep sleep.

" Are you alright? " I asked him again.

He stood up and unexpectedly he threw his arms around me and hugged me tightly and placed his chin over my shoulders and started crying.
