Lexas POV
-
-

Lexa was the new teacher in Arkadia high school. She had just started there. She had to be honest though. She wasn't at all looking forward to it.
Who was in the first place.
Just a bunch of snobby kids who think they're on top of everything, a bunch of boys who try to impress their girlfriends, what was the point of going to high school.
Sure you go to learn, but kids mostly just go to have fun.
It was just a part time job right? She could find something better in due time. She didnt have to worry.

The bell had run loudly, pulling her out of her bitter thoughts. Lexa readjusted the books in her arms, holding them up against her chest.

She witnessed as all the students started to rush through the hallways, as if there was some sort of competition going on and the winner didn't have to go to their classes.

She got shoved around by a few urgent students but she let them go. What was the point of making them even later for class.

The second Bell rang and the halls started to clear up. She was thankful for that.

She started to make her way to her class that was located on the second floor. Since she was new, she wasn't teaching a class on first period. She principle, Mr. Jaha, said that she could have this time to prepare for her lesson. She had it all figured out though. She would start by introducing herself, then go over the class list and take attendance, maybe she could start with a few ice breakers to lower the tension a little.
Yeah that sounded doable.

Lexa smirked satisfied to herself.

She looked down at one of her notebooks, as she opened it and started to review her lesson, when she felt a collusion.

"Jesus Christ!" Lexa said slightly surprised. She luckily had kept herself from swearing but even if she did, it wasn't even the problem.

Her books flew and landed to the ground with a thud, and so did the books of the person she had bumped into.

Lexa was about to snap at them. But she got a good look at this girl and she was lost for words.

She stared into her bright blue eyes, as the girl stared into hers. Her expression started to soften slightly and she saw the girls eyes' flicker to her lips for a moment.

Lexa just raised an eyebrow and she heard the brunette student speak up.

"Right!" The blonde said in a high pitched voice.

The blonde broke the stare and Lexa raised an eyebrow at her once again curiously.

She watched with an amused smirk that was playing across her lips, as the blonde struggled to explain herself.

Lexa was about to respond, when she saw the blonde trip accedentally over the hard cover text books. Lexa tried to stop her, but she found herself falling just as she wrapped her arms around her waist.
They both lost their balance and Lexa grunted in pain just as she hit the ground. There were large books underneath her which didn't make the fall any less pleasant.
Lexa opened her eyes once the pain started to die down and she looked up at the blonde who was staring into her eyes.

"Clarke."

The brunette student called awkwardly.

Clarke had finally realized what happened so she tried to get off, using Lexas' leg to push herself up, only her attempt failed miserably.

Suddenly Lexa felt the girls lips' on her own and her eyes widened in complete shock. She was too surprised to make any move to push her off, or to stop it.

If she's being honest, she hadn't kissed anyone since her last girlfriend. Her name was Costia. She had passed away a couple years ago, and Lexa still wasn't over it.

Costia had been walking home from Lexas that night. She should've just told Costia to spend the night but she panicked. If she did, Costia would still be alive and Lexa would be proud to call Costia her wife.
Lexa had been planning to propose the next day.
She had been planning to take Costia to where they had their first actual date. To where they had shared their first actual kiss. To where she had first said I love you to Costia. And to where Costia had said it back.

But now she wouldn't be getting anything she wanted.

Just thinking about it brought a pain inside of Lexa. One the girl pulled away, Lexa looked up at her still in shock.

The girl became a stuttering mess and that made Lexa smirk amused. Lexa realized where Clarke's hands were and she cleared her throat uncomfortably.

"Whats your name?" She asked the girl calmly.

"C-Clarke Griffin." She answered, her voice cracking.

"Well Clarke, for starters, let me start by asking for you to get off of me." Lexa commented.

"Yes of course."

They both began to collect the books scattered across the tile floor and stood.

Once she had introduced herself, she noticed Clarke's expression seemed to have dropped completely. Like she was disappointed or something.

Lexa tried her best not to say something about her reaction.

Clarke's friend and herself began to walk down the hall but Octavia was ahead of the blonde by a few paces.

Once Octavia had cried out, Lexa stared at her giving her a firm look as her eyes landed on Clarke who seemed equally embarrassed. Maybe even more than Lexa was.

Clarke watched as Octavia had ran around the corner, leaving the two standing in a tense awkward silence. Suddenly, Clarke began to walk again without another word to Ms. Woods.

The brunette watched Clarke walk down the hall, her footsteps echoing. Before she could stop herself, she just blurted out.

"Ms. Griffin?" She called.

Clarke froze in her tracks, turning towards her with a expression of curiosity.
Lexa tried to stop herself but she couldn't. It was too late by the time she realized what she had said.

To a student.

To a girl she barely knew.

But to a student.

"Maybe I like clumsy." She concluded. It was too late to take her words back now.

Clarke was staring at her like she was some sort of zoo animal. To save herself from embarrassment, and the awkward uncomfortable tension, Lexa turned on her heels and turned the corner heading to the flight of stairs that would lead her to the second floor.
