"you're okay clarke... i'm here for you." octavia reminded, as they continued to stand in the middle of the hall. at this point, clarke had practically finished crying and she was just standing in her best friends arms sniffling, trying to catch her breath. it was short and hitched but she was slowly getting there. key word; slowly.

"t-t-thanks O..." clarke sputtered, pulling away slowly. octavia used her thumbs to wipe the tears off of clarke's cheeks, and she smiled at her with a sigh.

"wanna tell me what happened?" octavia asked softly. clarke looked at the two boys who were also curious themselves. not that she would say it in front of them anyways. or at least lincoln because he still had no knowledge of what's been going on.

"uh..."

octavia seemed to notice clarke's uneasiness and her gaze drifted over to her boyfriend and brother.
"boys be gone!" octavia ordered, pointing down the hall. bellamy and lincoln exchanged glances though they said nothing and soon disappeared down the hall, giving the girls their privacy.

"that better clarke?"

"yeah... i... i just don't know where to start. my mom found my drawing of lexa that i did. she thought it was the girl i like, so she kept it so she would quote on quote "know what her daughter in law looks like" and then coming to these interviews, she saw ms. woods in person and instantly recognized her because my drawing was close in similarity, it was hard to tell them apart! needless to say we didn't even finish the interview, nor did we start, and my mom ran out of there so fast. i was confused as to why but the second she pulled out the drawing i knew what happened... she figured it all out. she found out how i feel and asked if i denied it, a-and i said i couldn't... she hates me octavia."

"see; that is exactly why you shouldn't be that good at drawing, griff!"  octavia joked, to lighten the mood. though clarke wasn't having it.

"O... come on..."

"clarke she doesn't hate you she's your mother..." octavia paused. "so that's why in passing she whispered to me 'i wish it was you...' it makes sense now." she realized.

"i can't believe she said that to you... i'm sorry." clarke said with disbelief. she wiped her eyes to get rid of the tears and she sniffled once more. "i'm so upset." clarke pouted, her bottom lip sticking out and trembling.

"i know baby, i know." octavia wrapped her arm around clarke and pulled her down the hall. "but hey, i know what'll make you feel better."

"what?"

"a trip to your favorite ice cream place!"

"oh my god really?!" clarke shrieked excitedly. she jumped up and down a few times, happiness washing over her body. octavia laughed, continuing to direct clarke towards the boys.

"see? i knew that would put an instant smile on your face." her best friend grinned. clarke stared at her admiringly. she couldn't ask for a better best friend. octavia was always there for her, always knew how to make her smile and laugh, they knew everything about each other. whenever clarke felt down, she could always go to octavia and count on her to turn her frown upside down. she loved her so much, she really didn't know what she would do without the sunshine in her life.
