Clarke's POV
-
-
Clarke walked into the crowded hallways and was shoved around by a bunch of students who were trying to get to their classes. The bell blasted out loudly from the intercon and she rushed to her locker. Once she reached her locker at the end of the hall, she stopped setting her bag down on the white tiled floor next to her feet. She began her combination, whispering the words quietly to herself as she entered the numbers.
30, 14, 06
The lock unhooked itself As she pulled it free from her locker, and she yanked it open.
Clarke began to pull out books for her first class of the day.
Science.
One of her favorite subjects. Not to mention that she is also passing with a 98 percent.
Suddenly, she felt firm hands grasp at her sides as she yelped out in shock, dropping the books that were placed firmly in her hands.
Her books were scatter on the cold ground as she turned around to see who had scared her.
"Octavia what the hell is your problem!"
Clarke glared furiously at her best friend, Octavia Blake.
Octavia had green eyes, and brown long hair. She was wearing black jeans, black boots, a black t-shirt, and a black leather jacket overtop. She had her hair down, and it was falling over her shoulders which complemented her quite well.
She was definitely that type of girl who would randomly scare people just to get a good laugh out of it. Which is what happened a few moments ago.
Octavia was bending over, grasping her stomach and she was laughing so hard, Clarke swore the brunette would die from the laughter.
"I'm sorry Clarke." Octavia weezed, slowly trying to stop laughing but clearly failed. "You should have seen your reaction. It was priceless!" Octavia exclaimed, trying to catch her breath.
Octavia was also that girl who would lift your mood up instantly, if you were having a rough day.
Just watching the brunette, brought a smile to the blondes' face.
"Just help me pick these up, okay?"
Clarke knelt to the ground, starting to collect her books up off of the floor.
"Sure." Octavia grinned as she got onto her knees as well beginning to stack a few books in her arms.
They both rose to their feet, and Octavia set the books in Clarke's arms, occupying her arms completely.
"Need a hand Clarke?"
"Yes. That would be great Octavia. Thank--"
Octavia started to clap with a huge smile on her face. "You can do it Clarke! Good job!"
Clarke stared at her with wide eyes. "Thats your idea of helping out?"
"I simply asked if you needed a hand and I gave you one." Octavia defended.
The second bell rang loudly, signalling that students should now be in their classes.
"Crap we should hurry." Octavia stated the obvious.
Clarke just simply rolled her eyes with a nod. "Could you grab my bag please?" She asked gesturing to her blue backpack that was leaning against the lockers.
"Sure. Sure." Octavia scooped the bag up in one swift motion, and slinged it on her shoulder.
Kids were rushing back and forth down the halls eagerly. Clarke pushed her locker shut, as she handed the lock to Octavia who then locked it.
"You know Clarke, I do know your combo." The brunette smirked evilly.
"I could care less. I trust you and I trust that you will not go snooping through my things." Clarke stuck her tongue out.
"Why would I. You probably have several pictures of my brother in there." Her friend teased sticking her tongue out at Clarke as if mocking her.
"Who Bellamy?"
"Duh Clarke! Thats my only brother!"
"You are out of your mind. I don't like Bellamy. We're just friends and that's all we're going to be." Clarke commented with a slight shrug.
"Thats not what he said last nighhht," Octavia drew out the word, speaking in a singing tone.
"What are you talking about?"
"Bellamy. He had a girl over and I swear, he was moaning your name."
"God! Octavia!"
"Im just kidding! jeez. relax princess." Octavia grumbled holding her hands up in a surrender like motion.
"Lets just get to class. Pike wont like the idea that we're late. Again.
"Right. Lets get a move on." Octavia agreed. Octavia had decent grades but she was mostly always late and her teachers definitely didn't appreciate that.
The halls were cleared of students and teachers, so Clarke hadn't expected to see anyone else except for Octavia.
Clarke turned walking around the corner, with Octavia by her side, and she wasn't paying attention to where she was going.
Octavia looked like she was trying to warn Clarke, but it all happened so quickly. Just as she turned to look in front of her, she bumped into someone dropping her books once again. But it appears Clarke wasn't the only one who had accidentally dropped books. The person in front of her did as well.
Clarke was about to snap at the person who she had ran into, and give them a lecture, but she realized it wasn't a student at all.
The person she had bumped into, was wearing a black skirt along with a white button up blouse, along with high heels which made Clarke feel shorter than she actually was.
Clarke looked up at the taller girl. This girl had piercing green eyes, and she was a brunette. She had her hair tied back into a neat bun. This girl looked to be in her twenties. If she really wanted to though, she could easily pass off for a teenager around Clarke's age.
Clarke studied her face structure.
She had a sharp jaw line,
Excellent cheekbones,
Pink plump lips...
Stop that Clarke.
She scolded herself. She couldn't seem to take her eyes off of this girl in front of her. Her serious expression seemed to have softened when she met eyes with Clarke's.
"Clarke... Clarke..."
She heard a faint voice but it ended up just being Octavias.
"Right!" Clarke snapped out of her thoughts breaking the intense gaze she was getting from this girl.
"I am so sorry. Truly I am, I'm just a bit clumsy and I--" Clarke seemed to have lost her balance since she had tripped over several books that were spread out on the ground. She started to fall forward and it was all happening in slow motion. She couldn't seem to freeze the moment. She couldn't stop herself from falling.
it was all happening so quickly, yet so slowly.
Clarke let out a slight gasp when she felt herself falling, unable to stop.
She then felt a firm arm around her waist and she knew it wasn't Octavia.
She realized it was the other girl.
They both had fallen. The girl taking the worst of it.
this girl had fallen on her back, with a grunt probably of pain from all the books that were underneath her.
Worst of it all,
This girls' arms were still wrapped firmly around her waist from when she had tried to keep her from falling.
the girl had her eyes squeezed shut, then slowly opened them, looking at Clarke.
"Uh, Clarke..." Octavias voice rang out once more and that's when Clarke realized she was on top of this girl.
She hadn't landed next to her, she hadn't landed on the ground,
No.
She had landed on top of her.
Their faces were inches apart, Clarke could feel her minty breath on her face, and she could smell her vanilla scented perfume. Clarke had to admit, she did enjoy the scent.
but she had bigger concerns.
