Lexas POV

What the hell was she thinking!Maybe I like clumsy.
Maybe I like clumsy?!
First of all, that was the worst thing she could come up with. But not to mention, she hadn't exactly had much practice with the pickup lines considering she hasn't dated anyone for a couple of years.
But second of all, it was to a student. Someone who could be in her class.
Suddenly she hoped Clarke wasn't in her class. That would solve one problem. But it was still wrong.
Lexa couldn't believe that she was actually thinking about this.
She could lose her job if it proceeds into something more, or worse. She could go to prison. She urgently had to get these thoughts out of her head. Her whole reputation was on the line. She didnt want to be known as the teacher who sleeps with her students.
Lexa had reached her classroom and she grabbed the knob, trying to turn it. But it was locked.
"Son of a..."
Lexa huffed and started to make her way down the empty halls towards the main office to get someone to open the door. She hadn't received the keys to her classroom just yet which she realized she should ask for them.
Once she arrived, she spoke to the secretary who nodded and motioned that she could go see the principal. She walked through the main office and knocked on Principal Jahas' closed office door.
"Come in."
Confident, she turned the knob, walking into the office.
She had to admit it was gorgeous. It was huge, spacious, and just incredible. Lexa was distracted as if trying to examine the entire office, inch, by inch.
She then heard a chuckle coming from the desk, which jolted her out of her thoughts.
"Amazing isn't it?" Jaha gave her a warm smile as he rose from his spinney chair.
Lexa gave him a firm nod. "Yes sir." She answered.
"Hello Ms. Woods. I'm Thelonious Jaha." The man walked over to her and held his hand, which she gladly took.
The two gave each other a firm hand shake, before releasing.
"Yes, hello. I just came by to see if you have my key? To the classroom?" Lexa asked hopefully.
Jaha gave her another smile. "I'm sorry Ms. Woods, I--"
"Lexa. You can call me Lexa."
Jaha nodded. "I gave it to the vice principal, Marcus Kane. Hes substituting in Pikes' class today."
Lexa sighed wondering where Pike was, but she figured it was non of her business. Jaha seemed to know what she was thinking since she looked deep in thought.
"He had a family emergency. His wife is giving birth."
Lexa looked at Jaha with a surprised look, which made him laugh. "He's in room 213. Why don't you go take a look."
Lexa gave him a nod of thanks. "What floor is that again?" She asked curiously.
"Second."
"Thank you Sir."
"Any time Lexa. Welcome to our team."
Lexa gave him a quick smile before she headed out the large door of his office.
Lexa exited the main office and walked down the wide hallway. Her high heels echoed with each step on the white tiled ground of the school. She walked up a flight of stairs. Her books were beginning to get heavy and she wanted to get into her class so she could actually settle in.
Lexa counted the room numbers as she passed the closed doors, and opened doors, until she reached room 213. The door was closed but she could hear a mans' deep voice booming from inside.Lexa read the miniture rectangular sign that was posted next to the door.
The only word written on it was Science.
On the back of the door, it had the name Mr. Pike written on it. But she knew he wasn't present. Otherwise she wouldn't be standing at the door to get a key to her classroom.
Lexa hesitated before she knocked quietly on the door. The man's voice had died down inside, pausing in mid sentence. She heard footsteps approaching the door and suddenly it swung open to reveal an older man with brown hair, with a few gray streaks in it. This man was slightly taller than Lexa. But since lexa was wearing heels, it made her seem taller.
He seemed to have dressed slightly casual. He was wearing black jeans, with a black windbreaker and a gray shirt."Ah! You must be the new teacher!" The man exclaimed loudly.
Lexa nodded, holding her books close to her chest.
"Pleased to meet you. I'm Marcus Kane." He gave her a smirk.
"Yes. Hi. I'm Lexa Woods. I just came by because--"
"Yes, yes I know why you're here." Marcus stated moving aside to allow her into the class. "You came by to pick up your keys no?"
Lexa walked into the class with confidence. She then nodded in confirmation. "Yes that I did."
"I've got them right here."
Marcus began to search the brown wooden desk of the man that goes by the name of Pike.
"Its around here somewhere," Marcus mumbled just audible for Lexa to hear.
"No worries. Take your time." She commented giving him a quick smile that he had missed since he wasn't looking at her.
Lexa looked towards the class. There was a girl with light chesnut hair that was pulled back into a high ponytail. Her and a few others were wispering and stole a few glances at Lexa. She wanted to know what was so funny, considering the girl had laughed. Some were actually doing work, like this one boy with black hair and bains that were plastered across his forehead. A student like that was most likely to succeed in his life.
Then there was a boy with brown shaggy hair sitting next to him seeming to just keep rambling on and on about God knows what.
Lexa smirked to herself. He seemed like the type who didn't know when to stop talking.
"While you wait Ms. Woods, why don't you introduce yourself to the kids. This will be your first class you'll be teaching this morning." Marcus Kane mentioned, pulling Lexa out of her random thoughts.
Lexa looked over at him and forced a nodded."Alright, but--"
"Hey guys, listen up. This will be your history teacher so be polite and get to know her a little." The class all stopped talking and she felt around 30 pairs of eyes burning into her.
Lexa let out a sigh. She wasnt the kind of girl who opened up and talked openly about her life. She struggled to think of something to say.
"Well, hello. I'm Ms. Woods." Lexa said uncomfortably. She paused thinking of something else to say and she felt as if she could hear the judgment from the students, just by their expressions."Why don't you tell us something else about yourself?" Marcus mentioned calmly. She glanced over at him, and saw he had the keys in his hands.
"Thats it. I'm Ms. Woods. And we're not having this conversation." Lexa concluded shifting on her feet.
A few students chuckled and scoffed as she turned towards Marcus who narrowed his eyes at her. "Alright?" He said in a question format. He held out the key and Lexa took it gladly from him.
"Thank you." She mentioned gesturing to the key. "I'll let you get back to your lesson." Lexa walked to the door when she saw a blonde at the corner of her eye. She looked back at the class and saw it was Clarke who was staring at her with a curious gaze.
When their eyes met, Clarke quickly looked away acting as if she was busy. How had Lexa not noticed Clarke in the class in the first place...
