Lexas POV
-
-
After Clarke had left in a rush, she left Lexa alone. But alone with her thoughts. That was worse.
She left Lexa to consider the earlier events which is something Lexa forced herself not to do.
The bell rang, signalling it was time for lunch. Luckily Lexa had finished tidying up her classroom so she could now go eat something.
She wondered how the cafeteria food tasted like. Other schools she reached in, well, let's just say... the food sucked. But maybe it was different here!
Lexa could only hope...
The brunette walked to her desk, searching through her textbooks until she found a book that did not belong to her.
She studied the cover curiously. Her eyes scanned the title of the book wondering what the meaning of it was.
Unity day.
She scanned the writing and her eyes lowered down to the bottom of the book which had another text saying,
Choose a side.
What is this? A war book? The brunette thought interested.
She now decided to study the cover itself. The illustration. Maybe that would give more information.
The front cover had a illustration of two hands grasping onto each other tightly. As if they were afraid to let go.
She started to think of what the book was about. The main plot. Just by the front cover.
An alliance?
War?
Peace?
Those were the only thoughts that she could think of. She turned it over and decided to read the back instead. Why didn't she think of this before? She had know idea.
Struggling to survive...
Life is more difficult than it has ever been.
You either die trying, or you don't try at all.
You either do what's best for your people, or they all die.
You either make peace with the others, or you go to war.
Its your choice. Choose a side.
Hmm... Lexa was curious to the meaning of that. Definitely a war book. She found herself interested in it, but she nearly forgot.
It was Clarke's book.
She had to return it.
The young adult walked out of her classroom and through the maze like school. She was still trying to get used to it.
She eventually found the lunchroom where she figured Clarke would be present.
Standing at the door, she scanned the room slowly until she found the blondes' back facing towards her.
A smile crept onto her lips and she made her way over. The girl froze about 10 feet away when she saw a boy lean down next to Clarke and whisper something.
The blonde just took notice and smiled.
You're not jealous... you're not jealous... you're not jealous.
Lexa told herself bitterly in her mind and she forced herself to continue and walk.
"Clarke?" She croaked out loud enough for her to hear.
She saw the blonde tense and struggle to stand, but only got pulled back down by the table.
Lexa hid her smile. The blonde eventually stood in front of her and she could see from the corner of her eye that the boy Bellamy seemed to be watching too closely.
She held out the book in both her hands and before she got one word out, Clarke snatched the book out of her hand, leaving Lexa almost speechless.
No thank you,
Nothing.
After a moment, Clarke finally Regan her senses and muffled out a forced thank you.
Lexa just nodded and let out a sigh.
Clarke refused to speak to her in private.
But Lexa refused to accept no as an answer.
The blonde finally agreed and Lexa forced herself to stay under control. Her heart thumped extremely hard in her chest, it only made her more nervous.
She watched Clarke as she met eyes with the boy who barged into the girls restroom.
The brunette clenched her jaw.
Oh no.
Before she knew it, they were in the same position they were when they first met.
Her hands were planted firmly on the blondes waists and the two made eye contact.
Clarke's friends seemed to have interrupted them, having their own small conversation.
But Lexa was distracted by the beauty hovering above her.
"We have to stop meeting like this, Clarke," she said with tenderness and she spoke in a soothing tone.
The blonde simply chuckled.
