"Live in such a way that if anyone should talk badly of you, no one would believe it."
I have had this quote written on my mirror for a couple of weeks now and let me tell you, it has really changed the way I've acted and the way I've looked at certain situations lately. I can honestly say that I feel like a nicer person than I had been before, and by saying this I'm not trying to make you think better of me or anything like that. I'm telling you this because I know that it can help you too! And I care about you!
Being a Christian is a lot more than saying you're saved and going to church every Sunday (and Wednesday for most churches). As a Christian, we are supposed to be Christ like and Christ is loving, glorious, merciful, forgiving, faithful, passionate, healing, righteous, just...(the list could go on forever!) My point is, we are to be each of these things and strive to be the very best that we can be. We should draw attention to God and not to ourselves.
Challenge for today:
"Oh noes! Work!" Trust me, you'll live. Okay, so what I want you to do is write down that quote somewhere where you will see it every day and remember it. It could be on your mirror like I did, or on a sticky note inside your school binder... Just somewhere that you will see it and remember to live in a way not that is pleasing to the world, but in a way that is pleasing to God.
Dear God,
Thank you for today and every single thing that you do. I ask that you help me to live the life that you would want me live. I want to be more like you in everything that I do. Please keep me strong that I may keep working for you. Thank you, Lord. Lead, guide, and direct me in the way that you would have me to go. In your son's precious name, Amen.
Bonus Challenge!!
Write that quote at the top on a few sticky notes or index cards and hand them all out to people that you don't really know. You can give it to them in person, slip it on their locker at school, or put it in a book that you know someone else is going to use. Just make sure it gets around that we are to strive to be our very best and to bring the good back to the world!
