Sorry I've been kind of lazy with my "lessons" here lately but I've got a good one for you today! This is about the ABC's of becoming a Christian. Most of you have probably heard it as Admit Believe Confess, but to me admitting and confessing are pretty much the same thing, so I changed it to admit, believe, and commit. I hope you enjoy!

ADMIT

"He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." -Proverbs 28:13

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." -1 John 1:9

The Bible tells us to repent to God and confess our sins. God already knows that we've done wrong and sinned, but we have to know it too. We are all sinners, but we just need to take that next big step and admit it to God. Then he shall have mercy on us and cleanse us white as snow.

BELIEVE

"As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe." -Mark 5:36

“Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.”  -John 14:10

"Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." -Hebrews 11:6

This one doesn't need much explaining. We've all heard John 3:16 and know that you have to believe before you do anything. But as I've talked about before, we don't just need to believe that God exists, we need to believe that he can do anything and will do everything for you... if you believe.

COMMIT

"Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." -Proverbs 16:3

"Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." -Romans 12:1-2

Committing. This is the part that gets us. We just get so caught up in worldly things that we forget to thank God or to ever pray to him. Being a part of worldly things is okay. I mean, we're human, it's what we do, but it is when the worldly things start to come before God that is when becomes a problem. God should always come first before everything we do. We must commit to him and give our whole lives to him, and everything else with just fall into the place that God has planned for it.
Worship is not just a church activity; it is a life activity. We need to devote our entire lives to worshiping God and praising him for the wonderful things he has given to us.
When you're in a relationship with someone, you have to commit to the relationship to keep it going, right? So what is so different about your relationship with God? Nothing! We must strive to do our best and to do as much as we can to keep that relationship strong and growing.

Admit. Believe. Commit.
Simple as that.
