First, I just want to let you know that I've started another book that contains basically the same kind of things that are in this book except they're short and easy, for those of you who actually have a life, unlike me, and have other things to do.
Please read it! It is called Heart to Heart, because sometimes we may not always see eye to eye with God, but we can always feel heart to heart with him.
And that's what I want to talk about with you now, being heart to heart with God.
The love between our God and his followers is the key and the very center of Christianity. Everything between us and God is based on love. His son's death on the cross is the greatest love story ever told!
Christianity isn't a religion. It's a relationship.
God invites us into a loving, "up close and personal" relationship with him. He loves us. We love him. Everything else builds up from there.
Just like any other love, it needs to be treated with respect, honor, and obedience. If not, the love we have for our Father and his son will fade into nothing.
True love takes time, trust, communication, caring, respect, dedication, and full sacrifice, just as Jesus did when he bled and died on the cross for our sins. Give him your heart, let him hold it, patch it up. God can heal your broken heart, but you have to give him all the pieces.
In Matthew 22:37, Jesus commands us to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Loving God is the key to loving others.
"Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." -1 Corinthians 13:13
Can you not see? Love is the key to EVERYTHING! But just remember, love is a two-way street. Both ends have to strive to keep the love strong and growing, or the relationship is going nowhere but back.
We cannot brag about our love for God because we fail him every single day, but we can brag about God's love for us because his love NEVER fails.
GOD LOVES YOU OR ELSE YOU WOULDN'T BE ALIVE RIGHT NOW!
Keep your love for God strong and growing, then everything will fall right into place.
