The Wrong Crowd

You've heard the expression "you are what you eat," right? Well, it is the same way with your friends. Who you hang out with is who you will become.

Romans 12:2 says "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Do not become one of the world. But that is kind of hard to do when the people around you aren't very Christlike either. When you hang out with someone for a while, you tend to start liking the same things they do and even start doing some of the little things they do. For example...I had a very close friend, who I later discovered is gay, and she also cussed. A lot. So after being friends for a while, I got used to it, even though it is not good at all, and one day I let one little bad word slip from my mouth before I could even think about it. I had gotten so used to it that I had almost convinced myself that it was okay! When really, it's not.

Another example of mine that is not so bad is my oldest sister would always yell "Not allowed!" to me and my other siblings when we would have a birthday because she, being the oldest, didn't want us to grow up. And now I cannot stop saying that to everything! My boyfriend is about to start driving "No! Not allowed!" My brother is about to graduate "Not allowed!" I have the ACT Aspire test coming up. "No. Not allowed! Illegal, even!"

See? Who we hang out with is who we will become. So let me just tell you this: Find the right friends. The ones who know the difference between right and wrong, but will still goof off with you sometimes. Someone who understands you and doesn't cuss or talk bad about people. They don't necessarily even have to be a Christian (although that is always better!) as long as they are respectful to your beliefs and you are to theirs, your different opinions shouldn't ruin your friendship. (But you can always witness to them! Be nice and respectful with it though because you don't want to mess up your friendship!)

But anyways, please don't hang out with the wrong crowd! Find who you belong with and who God wants you to be with. Don't let the world change you. You are awesome! Have a wonderful, wonderful day! God bless you!💜💜💜
