Warning: Angst but happy ending!!
((I got inspired by Heartache On The Big Screen by 5SOS. Lyrics are bold and italics. :) )).
Started out like in the movies.
Like every cliché movie, it was raining, the guy bumped into the girl that had coffee and it spilled all over her. Surprisingly, she wasn't scalded or angry at him for it. She smiled and just said that it was okay. Even though she was rushing for a meeting that day, she still stayed and talked to the guy, making him glad that he had bumped into her, silently thanking God for the opportunity.
But it ended like a bad dream.
Like every cliché movie, there's always an end. Pictures burnt, glasses shattered, hearts broken. He sat in the middle of the wreck, thinking to himself what he could've done better before deciding that if he was going to stay up all night thinking about the past, he should be productive with the time. He gave himself work, loads of it just to get her off his mind. Everyone could see he was sad, it reflected in his eyes. He knew it too, that's why he couldn't lift his head up to make contact with anyone.
Curtain opened, heard the crowd roar.
This one's a repeat, seen it before.Like every cliché movie, there will always be an encore. "Just saying, I was forced into this." His ex said it, while sitting directly opposite him in the meeting room. Yoongi couldn't believe his eyes. Management had just announced that his ex and him were back together. Yeah, he love her so much, so dearly yet, he was clueless. He was involved in this yet, he knew nothing. His Twitter feed, spammed with the fans tweets, congratulating them on getting back together, treating them like they were their lifeline, saying how much they loved them, how much they hoped to see Yoongi being happy again. Fancafe was comparing the pictures of them, before and after the breakup, stating that they could see the huge difference of emotions. They wished that it would be back and now to them, their prayers were answered. As he was filled in by management on what had they done, he looked down at his fingers, fiddling with them because he knew her eyes were on him.
Rewind to the start before it all went wrong.
What's going on?Like every cliché movie, the guy would think back on their relationship, from the start till they end. He realised that he never knew what was going on with their lives. They were rushed, trying to make the relationship work yet they broke themselves in the process. Was it all worth the fights? Was it worth all the fuss?
The clock is ticking, and I'm out of time.
The camera's rolling, and I forgot my lines.
My script is ripped and now I see, this is heartache on the big screen.Like every cliché movie, the guy could hear the ticking of the clock as he thought. It irritated the hell out of him as it reminded him that he's going to have a sleepless night. Suddenly, his phone rang. When he looked at the caller ID, he had never expected her to be the caller. He fumbled with his phone, almost dropping it in the process. "Hello?" Her voice was heard. "Shit." He had accidentally accepted the call when he was fumbling with the phone. "H-hi," He tripped over his words, facepalming himself as he said it. He was always calm and collected, what's going on? "This is a bad time to call, I will call back lat-" "No, no. It's a good time." "Oh alright, just reminding you, we have a date at the restaurant we always go to tonight." Date? What? "I wasn't informed, thanks for reminding me." "Yeah.. I will go now."
In a state of panic, Yoongi yelled, "Wait! Please!" It surprised her, what's going on? She slowly put the phone back to her ear before asking, "Yoongi, what's wrong?" He didn't hear her call him by his name ever since they've broken up and hearing this just made his day. He didn't know how much he missed her voice until now. It sounded like music to him, so precious, so fragile. "Yoongi? Are you still there?" "O-oh, yeah, I just wanted to say I will pick you up." "That's not neces-" "I insist. See you at 6.30pm." Then, he hung up the phone before taking a big breath. The words had slipped out of his mouth without him knowing and he doesn't know whether to thank his impulse or not since it gave them more time to be together.
Back to square one where I started.
Like every cliché movie, the guy arrives on time, dressed smartly, obviously nervous for their date. It felt like it was the very first time they were going on a date together. He was holding the her favourite flowers, after all, women deserve to be treated like a queen. His hands were shaking from all the nerves and he told himself to keep calm, knowing that he will screw up if he doesn't.
"Hey."
Dressed in her favourite maxi dress, her hair was done up slightly and even though he couldn't see, he well knew that her shoes were her favourite pair of converse. She never liked being uncomfortable. "If a guy doesn't like the way you dress for a date, he ain't worth it." She would always say that. As he looked at her walking over to him, he could hear her saying that sentence in his head.
"Hey." He said, with a smile on his face. He just noticed that he hadn't felt this happy for so long. He felt like the smile was so wide that it would spilt his face any second. He handed the flowers to her, while using the other hand to scratch the back of his neck. His nerves are starting to get back to him. He could feel his palms getting sweaty. He could feel his heartbeat speeding up. He could feel the heat rushing to his face.
"Th-thank you." She grabbed them lightly, bringing them closer, only getting a small whiff of the scent. "No problem." He held his arm out and she shyly accepted it, much to his surprise.
.
The date went better than expected. There was no awkward atmosphere, there was nothing that could trigger a fight. It just felt.. right. They were having fun. It was like the old times. As they left the restaurant, Yoongi got the courage to asked her for a walk together, alone. Something that he would expect her to reject since she was forced back together with him. But the day was just filled with surprises.
.
"To be honest, what did we fight about?" She asked, breaking the comfortable silence they had after awhile. They were walking on a quiet trail in a park near her house, almost reaching her home. "I really don't remember." "I just remember getting really mad and I was convincing myself that it wasn't worth all the fuss." She laughed as silent tears flowed down her face. Yoongi stopped. He grabbed her heard gently in his hands, his thumbs wiping her tears away. "Please, you know I can't stand it seeing you cry." "It's just, I tried to convince myself but I thought of us more and more everyday. Tonight, I just. I really can't take it knowing that we have to act like that but we aren't together." "Then let's get back together."
.
Like every cliché movie, the guy always gets the girl.
