Author's note: I'm kind of disappointed about this one. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. But I hope it is fluffy enough. :)

缘分//Fate//
{n.} a relationship by fate or destiny; the binding force between two people.
"Do you believe in fate? Do you believe that your whole life is already planned even to the smallest detail? Like from who you will meet on the train on the way to your destination or who you will walk by when you are buying your lunch. Even when you have to make decisions, the ending is unavoidable." She could hear the inspiration speaker talk on and on about this thing called 'fate'. To her, fate is kind of grey to her, she doesn't believe it nor believe it. It isn't black and white to her. Sometimes, she does believe that fate exists but other times when she knew that her decision could change part of her life, she doesn't believe in it.
.
"Do you believe what she was talking about just now?"
"Totally! What about you?"
"Same here, I believe in things like soulmates too!
"Can you believe that your other half is already out there? You may even have met before at the subway station or it could be one of your friends. It is so cool how everything is fated."
She heard a group of girls talking about the talk when they were walking up the stairs to leave the hall. She scoffed, it was one of those days when she didn't believe in fate. She walked down the stairs and went to her locker, only to find out that she had no more classes since her teacher had cancelled her classes that day due to personal reasons. Knowing that she had no more classes and homework to complete that day, she was practically free for the day. So she decided to take the long way home and pick up her favourite drink and rent a movie to watch for the night.
.
As she reached the mall, she walked to her favourite café. To her delight, it was empty, making her change her plans. Instead of watching a movie at home, she felt as if she should stay at the café and relaxed there instead. Call it a gut feeling but she felt as if she is needed to be there for the day so she ordered a drink and sat down at a booth. It was in the corner of the café, unnoticeable yet she can see the whole café from there.
.
"Damn, I just finished it." She looked at her empty cup. She had been using her laptop and she kept a journal inside it. She always wrote about her day when she wanted to and would always rate her day out of 10. However, unlike a diary, she would write about certain people that stood out that day to her. She was reading through the journal, only to notice a similarity in a few entries. It was about a guy, kind of tall but always had different hair colour. But the way she described their silhouettes is always the same. How could she have not noticed that before when she was typing the entries? How could her stand out so much in her day when she had only seen him for a few seconds that day. Thinking back on those days, she remembered him only appearing at the other side of the street or in the next cabin of the subway train. Strange, she thought to herself. A bell rang when someone opened the door, snapping her out of her deep thoughts. She shook her head and stood up from her seat, going to the counter to order another drink.
When she sat back down, she saw a guy sitting at the table right beside her. He was reading through a worn-out notebook, a few pages wrinkled and almost dropping out of the book. She sat back down and scrolled through her journal again, only to find herself looking back at the guy, squinting her eyes at his appearance. He looks exactly like the guy she had described about in her whole journal, and his hair colour? Exactly the same as the one in her most recent entry about him. Knowing that he is right beside her, she couldn't help but stare at him. She was curious on why he stood out so much to her only to realised that the real question was 'why not?' He was clearly the most attractive guy she had seen and weirdly, she felt a connection between them. Call her obsessed but, there's just something about him that she can't put her finger on.
"Hey, is something wrong?" He asked her. Instead of being weirded out, she was surprised to se that he was concerned about her. "Oh hey, nothing is wrong. Thanks for asking." She smiled. She hesitated before asking. "Hey, just asking, do you happen to be at that bread shop down the street two days ago?" "Oh yes! I was visiting a friend there that day, why did you ask?" That just confirmed his identity. "Oh, no reason! I just found you familiar that's all." She started to put her laptop in her bag and she grabbed her drink. She was satisfied with his answer to her question and that all she needed for the day. She grabbed her bag and slung it over her right shoulder with her cup in her left hand. "It was nice meeting you." She said, giving him a smile before leaving.
.
"Wait! Wait a minute!" She heard someone shouting. She turned around to see the guy in the café running towards her. "Is something wrong?" She asked him. She saw him frantically flipping through his notebook and he reached a page. "Last week, were you at a salon doing your hair?" "Yeah I was." She saw his eyes lighting up before flipping to the next page. "What about four days ago? Where were you around 4 in the afternoon?" "I remember that I was at the pet shop looking at the animals there for an hour." She laughed at that memory and how she struggled to finish homework that day since she lost track of time playing with the pets there. His smile grew bigger.
"This may freak you out a little but I keep a book about people that stood out a lot to me on certain days and I see you a lot in my entries so I had to confirm that it was you." She had never met someome that had that same habit as her. She smiled at him before answering, "I do the same thing too, that is why I asked you that question about the bread shop." As they exchanged names and numbers, she can't help but think;
To her, fate WAS grey.
