The Prompt Book

Prompt 1

Welcome to our prompt book!
These are not contest challenges, but rather a personal challenge. There is no time limit, so you can use any of these prompts in any books, as many times as you want, anytime.

We also want to read your stories! Although they're not being judged for prizes, we still want to see which prompts are successful.
If you decide to post a story on Wattpad utilizing one of our prompts, tag your story "contest_fun" and "P1", for prompt 1, (or whichever prompt number you use.)

Prompts will be posted weekly, so stay tuned for more.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, who's ready for some prompts?

So, who has caught themselves accidentally eavesdropping on people nearby? Whether they're people you know personally or not, it's simply human nature to listen in on the gossip.
This means your characters are bound to do so too!
If you need an idea to start off a story, write about a time you overheard a bizarre conversation. What is happening? What made it bizarre, and what was your reaction?
If you aren't a nosy person, write about a time you think someone ELSE overheard one of YOUR bizarre conversations. Did you see their reaction? If not, then make it up. Your conversation could have weirded them out, or it could have made them do something terrible out of misunderstanding.
For those of us who need a little spark in their current book, characters who eavesdrop never go wrong; at least from the writing perspective (it moves the story along, but the characters usually are thrown into chaos).
Base it off of a real life conversation, or make up your own.
