This is an OTP prompt!
There are three choices. The sweet ending, the bittersweet ending, and the bitter ending. Your couple is old and gray. They've spent years together. They live in a little home together with a large tree in the backyard that's had their names carved into it for years. One day, they decide they're tired and want to spend time together, so they walk out to that tree. And they rest. For a while they just talk.
"Remember ____? "
"Oh yeah, that was funny."
"I miss my dad."
"I know, I miss my mom."
"Do you think they're watching us?"
"Maybe."
And eventually they doze off.
The sweet ending is that they wake up together and just reflect on how great life is.
The bittersweet ending is them both passing away, sitting under that tree, hands held.
The bitter ending is only one dies. And the other wakes up feeling the cold skin of their lover.
