As soon as the centipede screeched loudly in the air, it made my ear drums feel as though they were going to bleed, Ryuu and I shared a look. The look said it all for both of us on what to do in the situation. Run as far away as we could from this thing. Neither of us hesitated to run away from the monstrosities centipede. It screeched again and went after us.
"I do not like bugs!" Ryuu yelled to me as we ran away from it.
"You would hate my friend Shino then. We're not really friends, though. I just watch him while he showers." I panted out to him as we continued to run away. The centipede screeched again and made us cringe.
"I don't know, that sounds like a really good friendship to me." Ryuu panted out to me, and then took a sharp left and I followed.
"Exactly. Shino doesn't seem to agree though. Also, he's on the sensory team." I replied, and the bug screeched again. "They said nothing about bugs to us."
"They probably wanted it to be a surprise for us."
"I hate this surprise then."
"Me too." Ryuu agreed, and we kept running. A couple seconds later, he took out a couple kunais and put bombs on them. He quickly turned around and threw them at the centipede. Quickly, I turned around in time and saw the bug flail around for a bit, and it came towards us again.
"Bad bug! You were supposed to die!" Childishly, I whined and crossed my arms over my chest.
"I hate bugs." Ryuu said, and wrinkled his nose in disgust at it.
"Shino doesn't though." I pointed out, and Ryuu just shook his head.
"I hate Shino then." He replied, and I opened my mouth to talk again, but the centipede cut me off with a screech.
"How rude." I said after I had stopped cringing from the screech. "It saw me open my mouth to talk, but yet it went right ahead and screeched."
"I know, I saw him see you." Sassily, Ryuu said and put his hands and his hips. "Bugs these days."
The centipede did not appreciate us ignoring him. He screeched again and brought attention back to him. Both of us groaned, and turned towards him. Ryuu stepped forward a step, but I held my hand up and let him know that I was going to take care of the bug.
"Thanks, I was not really going to do anything useful anyways." Ryuu said, and shrugged while I just grinned and rolled my eyes.
"My turn then." Eagerly, I said and pulled out a kunai. There was something about fighting that brought out a side of me, that made me act cool. It made sense to me then how Naruto and Sasuke felt about fighting and being confident in your moves. Except, I didn't have many moves and I knew that me wining any fight involved a lot of luck.
"Earth Jutsu!" I yelled after I did some quick hand signs. It took more chakra then it should have since it was mainly sand around us, and I had to pack them together to get the jutsu to work. I formed a small dome around its head, and then had to struggle to hold it. "Ryuu! Cut its head off while I hold it down!"
"Got it!" Ryuu said, and ran towards the centipede with a kunai in his hand. Sweat began to fall down my forehead and the hot sun was not helping me. Quickly, he put a couple paper bombs on the kunai and threw it down.
"EEEEEEEERRRHHH!" In pain, the centipede screeched out and I covered my ears. It stopped moving, and we saw a small blood lake form around its neck.
"Is it dead?" Ryuu whispered to me as he walked over. "I can't tell."
"Let's just assume it is and get out of here. To be honest, I don't really want to find out if it is alive." I said, and turned towards the center of the sand pit, and away from the direction of the fence. "Come on, let's go."
