Never Let Ryuu Name Your Children

"For the last time, I won't cuddle with you!" I exclaimed as I rolled over away from Ryuu. He was trying to fall asleep, and I was going to be on watch for us. After Shino's team going after us that day, we knew one of us should be on guard at all times. Both of us were exhausted from the battle. Somehow, Ryuu had convinced me it would be better for him to sleep first.

"How come?" He whined at me, and I just wrinkled my face.

"I will fall asleep, and then I will kick you in the face." Stubbornly, I explained to him and took a drink of water. "Make sure to get plenty of sleep, because tomorrow we are searching for some water."

"Kill joy." Grumpily, Ryuu pouted as he began to relax and closed his eyes. "I'll just cuddle with the sand.." He murmured as he fell asleep.

"You do that." I said, and pulled a kunai out so I would be ready at any time needed. "Don't get sand in your crotch." I said with a weak smile on my face and tried to not be so grumpy at him. Things were silent for a while, and I got no response. That was how I knew Ryuu fell asleep.

We were close to the fence again. For some reason, we thought that it would be the best thing for us. Either that, or somehow we had gotten connect to the fence and couldn't let go. The sun had went down a long while ago and it had gotten much cooler. The stars and moon had come out and were high in the sky.

As I looked up into the sky, I let out a sigh. It was only the first day, and we had already gotten into a serious battle. Even though we had no slight idea of a plan, we were sure that we weren't going to battle right away. Obviously that non-existent plan was ruined. Since Ryuu was asleep, it left me the time to think of a plan for us.

"What if we got everybody pregnant? Nobody wants to fight somebody pregnant. Wait, then Ryuu and I wouldn't be pregnant and then we would be the main targets. Never mind." I thought and wrinkled my nose. "No way I could hit Gaara either. So Ryuu and I would be screwed."

Quietly, I stood up and walked around a bit. The sound of sand underneath my feet always startled me when I took a step. It was more of a crunchy sound than I had imagined. After being in Konoha for so long, I had never gotten a chance to be around sand a whole lot. Gaara, Kankuro, and Temari had the advantage of being used to the sand. Especially Gaara, he was most likely too familiar with the sand.

"Time to make use of the free time I have." I whispered to myself and began to dig around the sand. "It would be so much easier if I had Byuakugan. Then it would be so easy to find water." I moved the sand around more, in search of a plant. After a while of searching, I saw the sand begin to vibrate.

"Oh crud.." I muttered and backed up. "NO! BAD BUG!" In horror, I exclaimed as a centipede arose from the ground. After a couple seconds of backing up, I realized it was just a new born. It was barely the size of my hand.

"You're just a baby centipede." In shock, I said as I crawled towards it. It was squirming around on the sand, quite adorably too. After analyzing it for a while, I took a risk and picked it up. Somehow it tickled my palm, and I giggled.

"Where's your mom?" I asked the little creature and poked it with my free finger. "Whoops, I think I killed her. I promise you, it was not my intention to fight her. Must have been her bug time of the month." It continued to squirm around on my hand, and I grinned.

"It's so adorable. Too bad it's going to grow up into a terrifying, monstroserous, man-eating bug." I thought to myself and frowned a bit. "Oh snapples, what am I supposed to do with it now?" I thought to myself and walked back towards Ryuu with the bug in my hand. "Maybe I can convince Ryuu to keep it for a while. It would be as if we had a child."
