I wake up to my phone ringing. I lean up stretching, yawning, then grab my phone.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Is this Hazel Dallas? Daughter of Crystal Dallas?" (I know I have a different name I'm sorry)

"Yes? What's going on?"

"I'm sorry to have to break the news like this but your mom and dad were involved in a car accident. Hazel I'm terribly sorry but your mom didn't make it. I know it's hard but I'm going to need you to identify the body just to make sure it's her. I'm really sorry."

I sit there in silence. Tears start spilling down and I start breathing heavily. She can't be gone. No. This is a prank... Yeah just a prank bro.

"Hazel?"

"This is a joke right?"

"No ma'am. The accident occurred a hour ago. She died at the scene."

I cover my mouth holding in my cries.

"What about my dad?"

"He's in a coma. We don't know if he'll wake up. It's a 50/50 chance."

I bury my head down between my legs and cry. Cry like I just lost the most important person in the world.... Which I did.

"I'm sorry again." She says.

I hang up and throw my phone. I take my pillow and cry into it. My door swings open and cam runs in with red puffy eyes. He hugs me tightly.

I wrap my arms around his neck and let it out. This can't be happening. It was only hours ago she was making pancakes and telling jokes.

"Cam... Is this a dream?" I ask in between breaths.

"No baby. But I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere." He pats my back which doesn't help but it's comforting.

"I want mommy." I cry.

"I do too. But we have to remain strong right now. She would want that."

I nod and back away from him wiping my eyes.

"I'll go to the hospital. Stay here ok? Don't do anything stupid."

I nod, not making any promises. He walks out and I see him walk out to his car. I pick up my phone calling the person who I love. The one that I need right now. The one that would take me to get pizza and we make fun of movies.

Come on pick up.

"Hello?"

"Hayes."
