I stare at my pale, cold hands. I hear the door open and a doctor walks in with a clipboard.
"Hello, Ms. Dallas. I'm Tim Green. I'll be your radiation doctor." He introduces himself.
"No." I speak up.
"Excuse me?"
All eyes turn to me. Confused.
"I don't want to spend whatever I have left in a hospital bed being stuck. I want to leave, to go do what I love."
"Hazel no." Cam stands up his eyes starting to tear up again.
"Cameron please. I want to finish the magcon tour. I want to spend it with family, friends. Please let me do this." I beg.
He sits down rubbing his face.
"I can see this isn't an option. I'll go get the nurse and she'll give you discharge papers." He says walking out.
"I already lost mom. Iris. Now I have to say goodbye to my baby sister?" Cam asks tears falling.
I look down trying not to cry but find myself crying anyway.
"Rose wouldn't want you to give up." Hayes speaks up grabbing my hand.
"She's dead." I say.
He looks down squeezing my hand.
"Keep fighting Hazel. We'll support you all the way. Just take care of yourself." Taylor says.
"I'm scared." I confess.
"Were all scared. Terrified even. But don't let the fear overcome you. Don't let it stop what you want. It takes courage to take the next step." JackJ says stepping closer.
I take a deep breath looking at cameron.
"I couldn't do anything about mom or rose. Let me take care of the one I value most in life." Cameron says grabbing my other hand.
He kisses my forehead. I bite my lip nodding my hand. The doctor plus a nurse walks in.
"I'll do it. I'll do the radiation."
