Melody's P.O.V

It's been a week since my fight with Ethan and I still haven't spoken to him. This weekend, I have to go without Tom and I already hate it. SInce Simon is home, we are going to visit family members of my family that I haven't seen since my parents passed away. They also planned to visit them in the family graveyard. While I'm there, I get to check out the place that I will be buried at. My grandparents freaked out and made sure that I will be buried next my parents under the willow tree. They even reserved a spot for when I get a husband so we can be together for eternity.

We are currently driving through my home town, looking for the place we were going to meet my grandparents at. Once we see them, the car is immediately pulled over. When I get out, my grandmother becomes really excited.

"Melody, I'm so glad to see you. Baby doll, you have grown so much. Your mother would love to see how much you have grown," memaw exclaims as she wraps me in a bone crushing hug.

"Baby doll? Since when has that been your nickname," James asks curiously.

"When Melody was little, she used to always carry an old baby doll with her everywhere. So we just started calling her baby doll," my grandpa comments from behind memaw.

"Awe Melody, you must've been so cute. What happened," Alex asks with a big grin on his face. I open my mouth to yell at him, but my phone started to ring in my boot. I bent over to get it and Alex smacked me on the ass. When I was standing back up, before checking the caller ID, I punch his arm. I look at the screen and see Tom's picture so I answer it as I walk away, but first I excuse myself.

"Hi Tommy," I say once I'm far enough away.

"Hey babe. Where are you guys at? Did you guys land yet?"

"Ya, we're at the place we were supposed to meet my grandparents at. I think we are going to go to the family cemetery soon. It's not too late to run and hide so you aren't forced to be buried with me in the family cemetery."

"For one I'm not running, I'm staying with you till the very end and that's a promise. For two, why didn't you tell me that y'all landed? The plane could've crashed with no survivors for all I know."

"Sorry tommy, I forgot by the time we got we got off the plane. You need to stop worrying so much. Can you forgive me for my little slip up?"

"Of course I can. So how's Louisiana so far?"

"It's just like I remember it. Everyone remembers me because I look just like my mother. It's really warm out and the people are really kind."

"Is that really the only way they remember you?"

"There is that and seeing Simon."

"Why is that?"

"The last time they seen me, it was Simon came to get me so he can take me home to my new life."

"Oh okay. Mel, is Simon near you by any chance?"

"Yeah why?"

"I want to talk to him about something. Can you put him on the phone for a minute?"

"Sure, just one minute please."

Simon's P.O.V.

Melody walks back around the corner and hands me her cell. I see Tom is still on the line so I assume he wants to speak with me, so I go around the corner.

"Hello."

"HI Simon, can I ask you a really important question involving Melody?"

"Sure, what's up Tom?"
