It's been a really hard week between me and Tom. We decided that we should have some alone time from each other and I hate it. The guys haven't been around to keep me busy, Kat is visiting family and obviously, I'm not forgiving Cassidy at all. I really miss Tom, but I know this time part is good for the both of us. The last time we talked, we got into an argument about wrestling. Every time I have seen him in the past week, we have done nothing but fight. I don't want to fight with Tom, but when you think about it we haven't had any kind of argument. Just as I think about that, my laptop starts making noises. When I open it up, I see Tom is calling me over skype. Of course, I answer it knowing we are probably going to fight again.
"Hey Mel," he says in a rough voice. His eyes are kind of red, so I wonder if he misses me too.
"Hey Tom," I say in a quiet voice. My voice hasn't been a hundred percent since we decided to spend some time alone a few weeks ago.
"Mel, can I come over. I feel like we need to talk this out as soon as possible. This whole thing is eating me up inside and I can't stand not see you everyday," he pleads.
"Yes," I answer quickly. He gives me a weak smile that quickly drops.
"Okay, I'll be over soon," he says before trying to hand up. He fails when I say something.
"Tom, please let me come get you. Not trying to offend or upset you, but you don't look or sound okay to drive."
"Melody, I promise you that I'm okay to drive."
"Tommy please let me come get you. I don't trust you when you look like you just fell off a train and rolled in the mud."
"I'm not going to fight with you Melody, so I'm just going to let you have your way. I don't have the energy to argue with you."
"Alright, I'm on my way," I say before hanging up. I quickly get dressed and grab my keys. As I'm going down the stairs, I pass by James.
"Melody, where are you going," he questions. I would imagine he would be shocked since the only the only time I left my room lately is when they carried me out, to get something to eat, or when the doors to my balcony are stuck.
"Going to get Tom," I reply over my shoulder before walking out the front door. I climb in my truck and take the ten minute drive to Tom's. When I get there I unbuckle, grab the keys, get out and go up to the door. Literally five seconds after I knock his mom opens the door.
"Melody, thank God you're here. Tom has been a mess for a month," she says when she sees me. "He's in his room."
I walk down the familiar hallway and turn into his room. On the bed is a mess of blankets, pillows, and sheets. I walk in to get a better view of the room when the door quickly shuts behind me and two arms wrap around and lift me into the air, effectively scaring me half to death. I'm carried to the bed and set down. When I turn I see a very worn out Tom. I smile when his eyes meet mine and wrap my arms around his waist.
"Are you ready to talk this out or would you like to shower and nap first," I whisper.
"Can I shower before we leave," he whispers back.
"Of course you can Tommy, make sure you shave your face while you're in there."
"Melody, I want you to be in there with me."
"Tom, sex in the shower isn't the best idea for us right now."
"Please Melody. I won't be able to stand alone without calling you in anyway. Melody, I need you more than anything right now."
"Alright, I'll go with you," I say giving into how upset he is. I know that I need to do anything I can to prevent a fight. After having some fun in the shower with Tom and making sure he is clean, we both get out. I watch him shave after I get dressed, but he makes me change my shirt and put one of his old t-shirts. Once everything is taken care of, including his formerly messy room, we head out. He takes a nap on the way to Simon's, but wakes as soon as I cut the engine.
Instead of going to my room, we go to the backyard and sit together on the old picnic table. He puts an arm around my shoulders and kisses the top of my head. After a while, I speak up.
"We should really talk about this."
"Where do we begin though. It's just been one stupid argument after another."
"For starters, I'm sorry for fighting with you. I hate fighting with you and I never want to do it again."
"I'm sorry too Melody. I'm going to be completely honest, I only skyped you because I was afraid that I was going to lose you."
"Tommy, no fight will ever make me want to leave you."
"Hearing you say that make me feel so much better. So, can we put this all behind us and curl up together in your room? I'm exhausted."
After nodding, Tom throws me over his shoulder and carries me to my room. We take a minute to get into a comfortable position. After we are squished together in the middle of the bed, we both slip off to sleep.
