Chapter 25: Moving

Tom's P.O.V

Right now it's a stressful and worrisome time. I'm getting deeper into school work and regular work. We just finished building the new house and to top it all off, there is my pregnant bride. Since it took awhile to find a contractor and everything, the building process took longer than usual. Melody's water can break literally any second now. We are currently moving into our new house and I have Mel sitting down.

"Ethan be careful with that box. It's labeled fragile for a reason," Melody says from where she is sitting on a blanket under a tree.

"Mel, I love you to death, but you need to worry about what's going on inside that belly of yours," Ethan responds.

"Would you two cut it out. Let's just get this done so we can get back to work on the barn," Steve pipes up. "Seriously, we need to get this done because Tom looks like he is about to have a stroke."

"Tom, go sit down with your wife and unborn child. I'll make sure everything makes it in the house," Simon says try to make sure I stay calm. I simply nod and follow his request.

ONce I'm on the ground next to Melody, she takes my hand and rests it on her belly. When I feel a little foot against my palm, I can't help but smile. She lays her head on my shoulder and I keep my hand on her belly.

"Tommy, please don't stress. Everything is going to be alright," She comments gently.

"Mel, all of our stuff is in boxes, your water could break any second, and school seems like it a waste of time more and more everyday," I vent to her. I know that she is stressing out too, but that makes me worry more. "I'll try to calm down, but no promises okay?"

"That's fine, as long as you try. That's all I ask."

"Melody, I love you," I say after a minute of silence.

"I love you too Tommy."

After a while, I decide Melody need some inside time. I have etahn and Steve give me a hand in helping her up. The guys support her back and I pull her up holding onto one hand and her side It takes a few minutes, but I am eventually able to help her up with the guys help.

"Ethan, when are you and your fiance getting married again," Mel asks holding onto his arm as he helps her up the hill.

"In about two weeks sweetpea," he responds patiently. It's been two hours since she last asked him that question. Since she has a hard time remembering things, she is always asking questions. I'm worried about if Melody will be able to attend the wedding. That's right around her due date. She is due the week before the wedding, but the baby can come late or something else can seriously go wrong.

Once we get inside, I have Melody sit down on the couch and tell me where she wants everything. At the end of the day, We are officially moved in. Luckily, Crystal came by and was able to help with Melody as well. The first room we set up was our bedroom. After it was all set up, I helped Melody up the stairs because we don't have the stair buddy installed yet. I help her get into bed and give her and the baby a kiss before she drifts off to sleep.

Simon's P.O.V

We finally finished moving Tom and Melody into their farmhouse. Tom just took Melody to bed for the day and he should be down soon. It's going to be a busy year for this family. Ethan is set to be married in two weeks, Melody is due to give birth to baby Nicholas soon, and we are trying to plan a wedding for the soon to be parents. Since they married in vegas, only the closest family members attended.

"Hey dad, what are we going to do," Ethan asks all of us all of a sudden.

"What do you mean?"

"Melody might not be able to make it to the wedding."

"Etah I'm sure she will be able to make it."

"What if the baby comes late? What is she is in the hospital the day of the wedding?"

"Why are you so concerned about Melody not making it to your wedding?"

"I just want her there. It wouldn't be the same without Melody there."

"Son, if Melody can't make it for whatever reason, we will figure out a way so she can be there. Don't worry about anything except saying the right name at the alter."

"Really dad, a 'Friends' reference."

"Yes, so calm down a little. Everything will be just fine."
