I wake up at about noon and roll around a little. Tom is in the bed next to me working on school work. He asked for the day off of work so he can focus on school, me, and most importantly the baby. We found out yesterday that we are having a boy and Tom is super excited. While we were at the mall yesterday, I was trying on maternity clothes and Tom went to a little store and bought a few onesies. One of them said "Daddy's little man" and another said "Mommy's boy."
"Good morning beautiful," he says glancing at me. "Or should I say afternoon."
"Good afternoon Tommy," I reply.
"How are you feeling this afternoon."
"I'm feeling great. I think that's the best I've ever slept."
"That's good. How's our little boy," he asks rubbing my stomach.
"I think he's good. I also think he is asleep still."
"Here, I'll wake him," he says before he lifts my shirt and begins to kiss my belly and poke it all over the place.
"Tom, cut it out. If he want's to sleep let him."
"You know what we should do?"
"What should we do Tommy?"
"We should start thinking about a name for him and when we're having the baby shower."
"I don't know about the baby shower, but I have a name idea."
"Let's hear it," Tom says shutting his laptop and turning to help me sit up.
"Nicholas," I say after I'm securely sitting upright
"That's a good idea honey. I also have an idea."
"Let's hear it," I say mimicking Tom.
"How about Rory or Timothy."
"Those are good ideas. If we didn't want him to have a new name, we could name him Thomas junior."
"That has a certain ring to it, but let's go with Nicholas. It sounds better with our last name."
"Sounds good to me. Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah, what's up honey."
"Can we have a wedding where family and friends can come? The guys all think it's a great idea and Simon want's to do it. I also think it's a great idea."
"Okay, let's do it. It will have to after the baby is born though."
"I know, I just wanted to run it past you," I say leaning against him. "I'm hungry."
"Let's go get you guys some food."
A few hours later, we are laying on the couch. To has his hand on my belly and I'm playing with his other hand. We've been laying down for an hour, but I'm not going to complain. I love laying down with him and it's nice to sit in the living room without the tv on.
"Melody can I ask you something concerning the house," he asks destroying our wonderful silence.
"What's on your mind Tommy?"
"I was thinking that we should live in a bigger house with a bigger yard."
"What's wrong with our little house?"
"For one, we are closer to our neighbors than I would like to be. For two, it's really small and I want to have more kids than there are in your belly. For three, it's only a two bedroom house and the appliances don't even work half the time."
"If you want we can look at a few houses around here and see what we can afford."
"Okay, let's do it. Sorry about wanting to move Mel. I know it's going to be harder for you because of Nick."
