A/N: The songs are Burn in Despair! for the part with the scared Mari, then Memory for the bittersweet comforting ( two instances ), then Dating Start! for the start of the date ( of course ), then Dating Tense! for the 'wait a second . . .' part, and then Dating Fight! once 'Tension' lines appear. You'll understand my hints as you read.

Papyrus had still waiting for Mari to come out to start their date. It was cold as it always was in Snowdin, but it certainly didn't bother Papyrus. He was a skeleton after all, temperatures didn't really matter to him. It was why he could live in such a snowy place without shivering all the time. It wasn't as if his clothes were particularly warm, either. But he'd lived in Snowdin for quite a while, and the cold never bothered him. He was starting to wonder how long he should wait for the Human, as they still hadn't come to have their date. He wasn't really sure of the time, it wasn't like there was a sky to judge it by. He glanced inside his house to see Sans entering his room, the lights on. He could have sworn Mari had gone in there as well. But that wasn't really possible, right? Sans didn't really let anyone into his room. Sometimes Papyrus wondered what he had in there. Well, he wasn't sure he could stand outside in the same spot for so long, so he went ahead back inside. He climbed the stairs to the second floor and slipped into his own room, not making as much noise as he usually did.

Sans ended up not sleeping.

He had grown accustomed to sleeping absolutely everywhere and anywhere, but for some reason, his body wouldn't settle. He was wide awake, his left eye glowing in the dark of their living room. He stared ahead at the TV he had eventually turned on, but lowered the volume so he could think to himself. He quietly allowed himself to reminisce about the day, and seemed rather worried about something, however, his smile stayed. He wasn't sure when Papyrus would be back, or if he had come back already while they were upstairs, but it was strangely silent without him. He knew he had to be safe. He was just a bit worried, was all.

The next time Papyrus peeked out of his room he just saw Sans sitting on the living room couch, the TV's lights on his skull. He seemed worried, even with his ever present smile. It worried Papyrus in turn. Even though Sans thought his brother was clueless, Papyrus could see it when something was wrong.

And something was wrong.

Sans glanced over at the door, not sure if he should go and walk around town for him for a bit, but a sudden shrill scream echoing through the house caused him to jump and change his mind. His eye flared a fire-like discharge that floated up like a usual flame, but it quickly died down and he got up quickly. He blinked his eyes back to normal, white prinpricks of light, and he hurried upstairs to his room. He quickly opened the door and turned the light on, seeing Toriel's shocked expression at the sudden scream as well.

A scream jolted Papyrus from his thoughts and he rushed out of his room only moments after Sans had arrived at his room, and he rushed inside his brother's room to see the Human and the Goat Woman. The terrified Human was being comforted by the Goat Woman.

Toriel quickly hugged Mari, trying to calm her down and trying to coax her into a less sense of fear.

Mari was absolutely terrified. That nightmare, what Sans had done to her in it, what Chara had said.

I'm still here, Mari. I'll ALWAYS be here.

Mari felt shivers up and down her spine at those words. When she felt arms around her, she jolted and looked to see Toriel hugging her, trying to calm her down. She wasn't sure if she'd be able to calm down. Not after . . . that.

Sans wasn't sure how to respond to that, or what to do, so he just stared at the two, slowly walking over with a slight look of worry. " *you okay kid?" He asked, walking closer and offering a comforting hand to her shoulder. He could only guess it was a bad dream, but what type of bad dream?
