Mari watched Undyne stomp and felt the room shake, but maintained her balance. As Undyne ordered her to pound the veggies, she found she couldn't hurt even the little tomatoes. She was a wimpy pounder. She pet the vegetables in an affectionate manner. But that seemed to annoy Undyne, and she soon "showed her how it was done", getting sauce all over both of them. It looked like Toriel would need to use cleaning magic again. They soon moved on to the noodles, Undyne dropping a pot with a spoon in it and a pack of noodles from . . . somewhere. Mari nodded as Undyne told her to put them in the pot, being careful. She placed the noodles in one at a time. They clanked against the empty bottom. Undyne seemed a bit confused, but soon moved on. As she was told to stir, Mari did it slowly and carefully. She tried to go faster each time Undyne encouraged-or commanded, depending on how you looked at it-her to stir harder, until finally the Fish Monster took over, bashing the pot with a spear. The pot and spoon were soon crushed, dented quite out of shape.

Undyne watched as the human ended up petting the vegetables affectionately. She glared and screamed. "OH MY GOD!!! STOP PETTING THE ENEMY!!!" She said, already imagining Papyrus doing the same thing in her place. "I'll show you how it's done! NGAHHH!" She said with a bright grin and quickly rose her fist. She threw it down onto the vegetables, splattering it all over the place. And onto themselves. It didn't seem to bother her too much, but she seemed a bit sheepish about it. "Uhh, we'll just scrape this into a bowl later." She suggested, but grew confident again. "But for NOW!" She said, and stomped down again, and a box of noodles and a pot came down from the heavens. "...we add the noodles! Homemade noodles are the best!" She said as she wiped off the tomato sauce from her face. "BUT I JUST BUY STORE-BRAND! THEY'RE THE CHEAPEST!!!" She said with a wide grin at her energized words. "NGAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" She yelled in excitement. But then, she relaxed a bit and motioned towards the noodles. "Uhh, just put them in the pot." She suggested and watched. The fact that she put them in one by one made her slightly confused. "Nice???" She said, out of uncertainty and shook her head before continuing. "Alright! Now it's time to stir the pasta!" She said, turning towards the pot after looking at the human. "As a general rule of thumb, the more you stir... THE BETTER IT IS!" She grinned widely, staring at the human as if she knew what was best. "Ready? Let's do it!" She said, and watched as the human started to stir. She wasn't doing it right! "Stir harder!" Undyne commanded, and watched as the human did so. But it still wasn't enough. "HARDER!" Still not enough!!! "HARDER!!!!" She commanded aggressively, but it still wasn't enough. "Ugh, let me do it!" She said impatiently and summoned a spear. She pounded the spear into the pot and wooden spoon, grounding it into a mess of noodles pieces and a beaten up pot. PERFECT! "Fuhuhuhu! That's the stuff!" She said, feeling proud of her work. Now to finish it all up!

As she was told to turn up the heat, Mari was careful not to let it get too hot. But Undyne kept pushing her to turn it up higher, until eventually Undyne just said she'd do it herself. Soon enough, a fire was lit. Mari didn't know how it had happened so quickly, but the room was soon lit with an orange glow, the walls and floor on fire in places. Luckily nowhere near enough to either of them to harm them. But Undyne kept plowing through, trying to continue the light and friendly atmosphere. One that didn't seem to be as false anymore. But soon enough even the determined head of the Royal Guard gave up, looking down.

"Alright, now for the final step: TURN UP THE HEAT!" She pumped up a fist in a powerful jab into the air. "Let the stovetop symbolize your passion! Let your hopes and dreams turn into burning fire! READY? Don't hold anything back!!!" She said, but when the human tried to turn it left, she looked smug. "Left? You fool! THIS BURNER ONLY GOES ONE WAY!!!" She said, and watched the human continue on going higher. It wasn't HOT ENOUGH! "Hotter!" She said, but then when it didn't seem enough, she growled. "Ugh, let me do it!" She said, and soon, a large blazing fire was set. She grinned, glancing at the human. "See!? This is how you -" Before she could finish it, there was an explosion, the fire spreading everywhere else besides themselves. She blinked a few times before laughing gently. "Ah. Man, no wonder Papyrus sucks at cooking." She said in fake cheerfulness, and waited a few minutes, staring at the destruction before looking at the human once again. "So, what's next? Scrapbooking? Friendship bracelets?" She asked, but suddenly felt a sense of sadness. She slowly frowned, sighing heavily and closing her eyes in disappointment. "...oh, who am I kidding. I really screwed this up, didn't I?" She said, turning towards the stove in defeat. She had lost, yet again, to a challenge she couldn't complete. "I can't force you to like me, human. Some people just don't get along with each other." She said, sounding like she had completely given up on the idea of being friends with her. "I understand if you feel that way about me. And if we can't be friends... That's okay. Because... If we're not friends..." She grew a wide, crude grin as she stood up tall once again, not noticing the human was falling for it. "IT MEANS I CAN DESTROY YOU WITHOUT REGRET!" She said, and pulled the young kid into a battle.
