A/N: Songs are Another Medium the moment they leave the Lab, and then Enemy Approaching for the Battles.

I'm so sorry.

Mari smiled at both Monsters as they agreed to continue on the journey to the Barrier. She made her way around the bed and tucked Neelix up between her torso and arm, leaving both hands free to grab her favorite Monsters' hands. With a boney set of fingers in one hand, and a furry set in another, she made her way to the end of the room, to where the escalator that led down was located. She let Toriel go first, so they could keep their hands together. She didn't want to lose or leave either Monster behind. Once they got to the ground floor, they found Alphys was nowhere to be seen. Had she gone to the bathroom again? Mari didn't know, but she didn't see yellow feet just behind the door marked "Bathroom", so she presumed not. She gave Sans a curious look, but brushed it off as they headed to the door opposite the door Mari had entered the lab through. There was a long stretch of land, narrow, that turned a corner a few meters ahead. There were also slowly pulsing, glowing red lines leading the same way the land turned.

Sans and Toriel watched Mari and let her take their hands when she grabbed for them. They both seemed relatively good with continuing on, so they let her pull them along towards the escalator. Toriel headed first, being the largest, and Sans followed last. His other hand was resting in his pocket, the other holding onto Mari's hand relatively tightly, just so that he didn't let go. Well, unless he wanted her to. When they got to the first floor, Sans scanned the area, only to find that Alphys was no where to be seen. He noticed Mari looking curiously at him and simply shrugged. He didn't know where she could be either. Well, he had an idea, but he didn't think it was possible. So, he forgot about it all together and followed Mari and Toriel outside into the rest of Hotland. Toriel looked around in slight awe at the lava and the land before them, and Sans seemed affixed to looking in front of them. He's been here too often to be amazed.

They had just exited Alphys' home when a sound sort of like a ping came seemingly out of nowhere. Mari glanced around with confusion before realizing what the sound was. She had to let go of Toriel's paw, and the newly-freed hand reached into her own pocket and pulled out her Cell. She turned on the screen and saw a Notification. It said:

ALPHYS updated status.
*just realized i didn't watch undyne fight the human v. v

Mari put her phone back in her pocket and took Toriel's hand again, continuing on their way. But just before she could turn the corner ahead, her phone let out that noise again. She sighed and dropped Sans' hand this time, pulling out her phone and checking the Notifications.

ALPHYS updated status.
*well i know she's unbeatable i'll ask her abt it later ^. ^

Mari put her phone away again and picked Sans' hand back up again. She turned the corner and walked a few paces before her phone chirped again. She sighed and, giving both Monsters apologetic looks, let go of both hands and pulled out her phone. If Alphys was going to keep updating her status, then she wasn't going to be able to keep hold of both hands. It would get tiresome for everyone involved if she had to keep dropping the hands and picking them up. So she'd just leave them be and make sure they were following. She checked her new Notification:

ALPHYS updated status.
*for now i gotta call up the human and guide them =^. ^=

Mari put her phone away again and continued on, finally reaching the end of the stretch of land.

As they continued on, both of them turned their gaze to Mari when she got a notification. Sans' phone went off too, but it vibrated instead of made a notification sound. He chuckled, rolling his eyes as he curiously leaned in to see what the message was. Alphys. Well, Alphys liked media sites, so it was a natural occurrence. You just kinda get used to it. Toriel had leaned in to see the message, since her paw was let go and seemed rather confused on how the message was received or why the phone was so upgraded, but didn't question it. Technology seemed to be very advanced in this area. When Mari finally put the phone back in her pocket and proceeded, it pinged again. Sans ignored the vibration in his pocket too. He let go of Mari's hand as she apologetically looked at him before pulling away. He leaned in again to see what it was, Toriel as well, and they both saw that it was yet another message from Alphys. Sans shook his head with a light chuckle and Toriel tilted her head in confusion. How did that work??? She stared at it for awhile until Mari put her phone away again, grabbed Sans' hand back this time and kept walking. When they got to the corner, she let go of both of their hands, and seemingly decided to keep her hands down for now, since she would be doing that frequently. Toriel held her hands together while Sans returned his small bony hand back to his pocket. They didn't mind it, though. They peeked over at the message again, like nosy parents, and couldn't help but chuckle and giggle at Alphys' last message. She did remember that she added the human, right? Well, it was amusing either way.
