A/N: I am SO SORRY for the very very very long hiatus. Real life kinda just punched me in the gut, stole my pen, and poisoned my inspiration. I mean, first there was studying for AP finals, then actually taking them, then regular finals, then getting the assignments for my summer homework and getting some of that done, and appointments and errands and then photobucket went and made 3rd party hosting something you have to pay for ( which means none of my photos show anymore, sorry about that, I'm looking for a new site )--Well, again, I'm sorry for the lack of an update for months . . . I hope this extra long chapter makes up for it. Also, since it's been so long, here's a refresher on the premise of the story and the last chapter ( Which is admittedly long, but if you don't remember everything that happened it's best to read this )--

The Story Thus Far

Mari, a young Human child, wandered up Mt. Ebbott--a place where it was said that those who climbed the Mountain never returned. She tripped down far into the interior of Mt. Ebbott. She awoke on a bed of yellow flowers with her stuffed cat, Neelix, in her arms. She encountered a vicious yellow flower, was saved by a Goat Woman, and left the Ruins with the Goat Monster. They found a pair of Skeleton Monsters, brothers, and discovered Mari had someone else inside her mind. Mari befriended the skelebros, especially the younger brother Papyrus, and moved from Snowdin to Waterfall. She further bonded with Sans, the older of the brothers as she went through Waterfall. She befriended a ghost named Napstablook and found a village of . . . Temmies. She encountered several Monsters throughout all this, but Undyne was the most difficult. Mari had to flee from her repeatedly while in Waterfall. One of those times, Mari collapsed and had a nightmare, but when she called for help, a tall skeleton with a flowing coat and no palms who didn't speak but signed. When she was forced to Fight Undyne, she had to flee until she reached Hotland. When Undyne collapsed from the heat, Mari grabbed a glass of water from a nearby water jug and poured it over her prone form. It refreshed Undyne enough that she stood, confused by the gesture, and walked away. Mari then found herself in a lab, meeting Alphys--a Lizard Monster--before encountering a robot she had built named Mettaton. He put her on a quiz show before disappearing. Mari found Toriel and Sans, then left the two of them to hang out with Alphys while she doubled back to find Undyne and befriend her. They attempted to cook spaghetti before burning the house down. But they were friends. Undyne ran to Snowdin to hang out with Papyrus as Mari returned to Hotland to continue on with Sans and Toriel. Alphys guided them through, and Mari encountered Mettaton a couple more times. Mari was killed in a Fight once, but something allowed her to Load back to before her death. Sans had to leave to go to his job, but Toriel and Mari encountered him at it not too much later. He ran a hot dog stand, and Mari bought one, receiving a pun as well. But something was wrong. Chara, the entity residing in Mari, had taken over and walked ahead, encountering a Monster. Chara began to Fight them.

The Latest Chapter: And Everybody Came!

( The ellipses between paragraphs are to show that it's a transition between scenes. I did take everything directly from my last chapter, but I didn't put the whole chapter in here, ya get me? )

Mari's eyes opened slowly, blinking at the blurry gray in front of her. She shut her eyes again. The color was giving her a headache. She slowly stood from where she had been laying down, carefully opening her eyes again. She wound up squinting to relieve some of the pain. Where was she . . . ? Eventually her eyes landed on something, something that . . . couldn't be possible . . .

But there she was, watching herself wear a grin and red eyes, and wield a knife. How could this be possible!? Chara had never taken over this fully . . . Usually they only said something through her or messed with her by thinking certain things at her. But now . . . ? Now they had taken over her body, and locked her away inside her own mind . . . And they were battling a Monster Mari had never seen before. They were a large boulder-like Monster, with a gleeful glint in their eyes and a proudness in their stance.
