Toriel smiled brighter with nod of approval and softly pulled her along. If she remembered correctly, there were only a few things up ahead, but if they make good time, the could see everything and still make it up to Sans and his brother.
Mari let herself be guided by Toriel, trusting her not to lead her into danger. Or at least, nothing that they couldn't handle together. But something caught her attention. It sparkled, and seemed to draw her towards it. She let go of Toriel and walked to it, but it didn't seem to do anything. She remembered that lamp, though, and the convenience of it. It seemed to fill her with a sense of . . . DETERMINATION. Somehow, she felt that if something happened, she'd be able to come back here and fix it. She didn't know how she knew that, but she did. She ran back to Toriel, who had only gone a few steps further, but she wanted to catch up as soon as possible. She grabbed her paw again and followed her. She was a little curious about where the north path would lead, but decided not to separate from Toriel again.
Toriel softly pulled Mari along by her small hand, pulling her down the path. Before them was a chest, where a sign stood by it. Toriel curiously walked up to and read it. Upon it, it read, "This is a box. You can place things inside and keep them safe in here. The same box will appear later on, so don't worry about coming all the way. - A box lover." She giggled softly at the sign, but didn't have anything she needed to put within it. She had her own magical safe of her own.
Mari was curious about what was in the box they had discovered. Since Toriel was only right there, she decided to open it and see what was in it. She found a pink glove, which seemed like it might hurt if you hit someone with it. With a grimace, she returned it to the box. She didn't like the color pink much, anyway . . . She liked most colors, just not pink. She returned to Toriel and held her paw once again as they headed down the east path.
Toriel made sure Mari's hand was in her furry grasp and walked down the path past the chest. However, once she walked onto the path past the box, she saw a short figure and a taller figure, and they looked surprisingly familiar. She smiled and stood calmly as she stared forward, seeing Sans and Papyrus once more.
She noticed Sans and Papyrus standing facing each other, and looked up at Toriel to see she had a calm smile on her face. She turned her attention back to Sans and Papyrus, able to hear what they were talking about with Papyrus' loud voice. But who exactly was Undyne?
Sans himself was standing around, listening to Papyrus in a curious, but nonchalant manner.
Papyrus was talking with Sans, in his usual loud voice, about Undyne. Of course he talked about her quite a bit, as she was the head of the Royal Guard, which he aspired to be part of. As Toriel and Mari arrived in their area, he was continuing to chat about Undyne to his lazy brother, "SO, AS I SAYING ABOUT UNDYNE," but as he spotted the two newcomers he stopped speaking. Was that . . . He turned back to Sans, but Sans was looking towards the human, so he looked towards the Human again, then back towards Sans, and he just couldn't believe it, so he kept looking back and forth, checking that, no, this wasn't a dream. He was so dizzy after somehow ending up spinning in a circle a time or two.
Toriel had curiously looked forward and watched as the brothers talked on about Undyne. The name seemed to be familiar, but it eluded her. She wasn't sure who that was. She could only tell that the name was indeed similar to one she had heard a long time ago. However, she watched as Papyrus looked over at them, more specifically at Mari, and couldn't help but giggle.
