Hello my dear reader.
Yeah I am talking to you. Yes you! You see I know that this is a book and like all books, you're debating whether or not to continue to the end. Let me be honest, this book is not just about some lifeguard and his daily routine. That would be brutally boring to tell. The lifeguard aspect is pretty much kept to a minimum. So I am hoping you will read to the very end.
You could skip right over to the epilogue right now if you wish, but what's the fun in that. In this universe you are holding in your hands, I am God. This world is brought to life by my thoughts, you are reading what I want you to. You're even imagining what my voice would sound like as you read this line to the full stop.
This is my world and you're the spectator. If I die then, this world crumbles along with it. You could destroy this book. By doing so, I would die along with the characters of this fictional universe. Could you then live with yourself? Knowing you killed those people? Yes I know they are fictional characters but they are still people, while not living they are still alive in your head. Or maybe I am just reading too much fiction these days. This book will never be able to tell the story if you choose to destroy it.
While you can go on to think you killed a god I'll continue to live on in many of these published books, as a form of parallel universes. Yeah that's a thing, even book characters have lives we are not just ink to paper. What you may see as fiction, can be reality in another world. You see there is a secret to this world-

That's enough! This is the author James speaking now, I want to apologize for this fourth wall breaking man. This is a prologue, not a philosophy session with the reader! I am seriously sorry for what the protagonist has gone and said, please do not feel discouraged to continue reading.
I sometimes feel I have created a monster in this book, his mind is not quite stable. Now reader thank you for picking this book up and I would like to welcome you to the world of the ''Lifeguard''. This is a work of fiction. The events in this book take place in Melbourne, Australia. The characters in this book are fictional, and any comparison is only coincidental. Now with all the legal requirements out of the way, I would actually take this opportunity to thank-

Hey reader it's me again. If you're wondering what happened to our dear author, I just disintegrated him... Yes that means that I killed him, but before you freak out, just in this world. He is still physically alive and well in your world. Don't you worry about that now.
However did you know that you actually could have avoided this outcome had you just put the book down . I didn't want to have to bore you with some kind of forward by the author that you have probably heard over a hundred times already.
Let's start this prologue already! My name is Levi Hart but my friends call me "Jay" don't ask me how that originated even I forgot how I ended up with Jay from Levi. I hope you're still with me here and yes I do break the fourth wall meaning I know that I am a main character or better known as a protagonist for a book titled "The Lifeguard".
For whatever reason you want to delve into a story of a lifeguard you are surely in for a lot more than you bargained for. You see this is the story of how I nearly ended up in the loony bin. I suppose at first I had your curiosity now I am pretty sure I got your attention, don't I reader?
