Nicole looked at me. She must of noticed I was taken back by her previous statement.
"Oh look sorry if I upset you" Nicole said.
"Oh no don't be, its nothing I just wanted your opinion on how to ace this interview." I said.
"Well Drew is a Task master. You would want to have very high knowledge that means knowing all there is to know about the body" Nicole sounded very smart.
Almost as smart as Lara. In a way these two girls where very similar but so different. Nicole was very mature and seemed to plan out every sentence before she said it.
She was very careful with how she worded herself. Lara on the other hand just seemed to be a free spirit. Very friendly and just went with the flow.
Her words just seemed to speak for herself.
"Jay, find ways to impress Drew. You want to be remembered by him. Not just some number or lifeguard asking him for a job." Nicole said
I couldn't agree more with her. It was true, I needed to do something that would outright give me that advantage when the interview time came.
"Nicole, how did you get the job" I asked.
It was something that was on my mind for quite some time. I mean it's always interesting to find out how people get their jobs isn't it? Nicole stooped and looked at me. It seemed to bring a lot of nostalgia to her.
"When I was completing my certificate, Drew did a speech at my school. He asked for a volunteer and I was like. Pick me. Pick me!" Nicole made a face and pointed at herself. She seemed to be imitating her expression from that day.
"I then went on to instruct the class. I did it the best I could and then after Drew's speech I went and thanked him for the opportunity. He then offered me a job" Nicole said as I looked dumbfounded.
No interview process. No emailing resumes. It was something so simple. Offering someone a job on the spot by impressing them. They say first impressions are everything. Nicole had just impressed the Goodman beyond belief.
That or he was secretly in love with her. She was gorgeous. I found that her best trait, went well over her looks. Above all she was nice. She was extremely nice and easy to talk to.
Mum once told me that good looking people have it easy. They get promoted quickly and are able to get really far. Only to a certain point though. Mum said it was because they didn't know how to fail.
"Ah that's cool, you got offered the job on the spot" I was secretly envying Nicole but I had to make out I was not surprised by it.
The rest of our conversation went really well. We talked about the muscles in the human body. What programs we like to follow. How many days a week we train. We talked for a very long time. I was drawn to this girl. I felt something that I never felt before.
I think this was the closest I felt to love. Or was this lust?
