I was angry. I felt threatened and unwanted. I wanted to confront Harry and Mel and find out why. I walked back to the staff room, a few lifeguards where in but I didn't know the two girls names but the guy was called Tom. I hardly knew the guy, but from what I know he was good friends with Harry.

I really didn't care anymore. For all I knew they had already heard bad stuff about me. I looked at the roster and saw that Harry was on pool deck. Mel's name had been crossed off the roster. That was strange.

"Hey guys what's it mean if your name had been crossed off" I asked

Tom was talking to the two girls and then looked at me.

"Oh if you're looking at Mel's, and wondering she just got fired" Tom said it in a casual tone as if it was nothing serious.

What the hell was going on? "What?" I said.

"Oh she was crazy, from what I was told. She spread a lot of rumors about most of the staff." Tom said as the girls nodded their heads, then went back to talking.

I was shocked and confused. I didn't have the time to dwell on this and went to find Harry. I left the staff room and went over to the 50m area where Harry was standing.

"Roo-kie" Harry said as he was smiling like an idiot.

"Why did you go tell Sven I wasn't watching the pool" I said in a very direct manner.

"What are you talking about?" Harry said looking confused as if he didn't know what I was talking about.

"Don't Lie Harry I know you told Sven I wasn't watching the pool"

"Oh that well yeah I did"

"Why would you do that"

"Because you were not watching the pool" Harry said as his face changed.

It wasn't serious but there was a glimmer of a smirk on his face as if he had wanted to do this all along. I know I was watching the pool so why is he saying I wasn't.

"I was watching, Harry I know I was watching the pool. Why are you making it up" I said.

"No Jay you were not, me and Tom saw you the other day not watching the water. You seemed to be off in your own world. In really deep thought." Harry said.
