I pressed the bar weighing about 70kgs up and then brought it back down to my chest and I continued the movement for another seven repetitions. There was no better feeling than smashing iron in the gym, after a long lifeguard shift.

Notable things that happened on my shift today included a code brown on the 25 meter pool.

That basically means that someone took a crap inside the pool. The best part was, I had to scoop it up by using a long net. It was a tiresome job that resulted in an hour of scooping up shit. Not thirty minutes later another code brown was on the splash park where I just happened to be stationed. You guessed it I was cleaning up shit yet again.

This time I had to scoop up the shit with gloves as it got caught in awkward positions. You could say it was a shit day, no pun intended. Lucky it was not Diarrhoea which shuts down pools for a whole day. It's the worst thing that can happen in a pool.

The Opa! Man came and said Opa a total of ten times followed by another dozen by his loyal followers. Brian Jr came just to say hi to all the guards and let them all know he will be back in four hours. Funny thing was all the guards he said it too would be finished within the next hour.

The day could have been a complete ride off, if Loretta Mchonda was working. Luckily Jamie Owen was duty manager today which was a load off my mind. He gave proper breaks and actually treated the team of lifeguards as a team and not just a number. I didn't move the boom today nor was I put on slide duty.

The most notable thing to happen today, was when I was guarding the warm water pool and saw Nicole Van Oscar performing her water aerobics. It was somewhat majestic. She showed passion and motivation to her class. Which was full of older people, all enthusiastically copying her movements from the water to the music.

I stood and watched. She did a great work out, and did not look to tire from it. There is something really sexy about a girl that trains hard, it's a very good image. Now I really wanted to say hello but the timing was just not there. She was talking to someone the whole time after she finished her class, I never had the chance so I didn't bother.  Anyway I am now pressing iron in the gym and I am thinking about my shift life guarding. Its Friday that Means its' T.G High Friday.

                                                                                                  *

I don't do drugs. My friends do, and I don't judge them for that. But I don't do drugs. Having said that T.G. High Fridays is the name of the night at my friend's house as it's the start of the weekend and everyone wants to smoke weed and get high. Its actually quite a common past time for most people. Its just not socially acceptable to openly talk about it,

Meanwhile I  started to cool down on the treadmill. A blonde haired girl comes onto the one next to me. Was it Nicole?

"Hey Jay, training hard?" it was Lara.

I guess it's very easy to get the two confused both had similar builds one just looked very bubbly while the other looked a bit more mature.
