"You're in for a wild ride" I said as Lara sat across from me.
We were sitting in the Zeta café and I was anxiously awaiting what she thought of the prologue chapter I had just read to her. She looked at me with a smile.
"Very different but I like it so far. I like how you addressed all the characters in the prologue. If I ever get confused I can refer back to it." Lara said as she drank her coffee.
I was happy that I had her approval.
"It's great that you are writing a book and all but how are you going?" Lara said as I reflected on the last month.
"I didn't get the girl, I failed statistics a second time, or the job I desperately wanted. To top it off one of my good friends got killed by accident. Don't say anything but I see him sometimes. He comes to talk to me." I said as I took a massive gulp of coffee.
"Having said that, through a few twists of fate and a new positive thinking mentality, I think I am doing ok now" I said as I actually saw how far I had come.
I mean going back a month I was scared of drugs in fact I was scared of change and trying new things. I was inferior of the system and abused because of it. I was a harder man now. I understood the dynamics of Waterpark and I saw how bad some people can be.
Power changed people it turned them into animals.
"Jay that's good, I am happy for you" Lara said as I wanted to see behind her face.
What was her game? She was far smarter than she appeared.
"Lara remember that guy I told you about Len Davis?"
"Yeah he was with the other two, Brian whatever and the Opa Man! I loved the Opa! Man guy" Lara said.
"Yeah well I finally saw him the other day he came over and said something. He told me about how depressed he was recently with his current split from his wife, he somehow read my status on Facebook. The one I don't remember writing. He told me that status motivated him to get his life back on track. That was the reason he stopped coming to Waterpark. He was able to fix his marriage and he couldn't stop thanking me. It's funny how the people we least expect are actually the most grateful" I said as Lara nodded.
"I told you it was a great piece of writing" Lara smiled.
"Lara did you plan all this the whole time?" I said as Lara nearly spilled her coffee.
"Sorry what did you say Jay?"
