Chapter 21: Abby's surprise

Isabelle woke up a while later with Olivia crying in Jared's arms. Groggily, she sat up and rubbed her eyes as she asked, "what's wrong with her? Do you know what it is?"

"I just think she needs changed," he commented softly with a smile. "I'll take care of her. You can get some more rest."

She watched as Jared took her over to a changing table and changed her diaper. Olivia shut up right after her diaper was changed and just stared up at Jared with her baby eyes, sucking on her fingers.

"That's a good girl, isn't it?" Jared said in a baby voice. "I think it is better. Let's go see mommy." Jared grinned as he turned and strode over to the bed and sat down beside her again in the uncomfortable navy blue plastic covering of a chair.

Olivia waved her arms around when Jared sat down but otherwise, she did nothing and laid there content in his arms.

"She really likes you," Isabelle commented, "she really is a daddy's girl."

"Yes she is," Jared replied glancing up, "and I'm going to make sure she will always be my baby girl and a daddy's girl."

"I've got no doubt about that," Isabelle grinned. She then glanced around the room and asked, "when can we leave? And can you get Abby. I've barely seen her and talked to her since I've been here."

"Of course sweetheart." He stood up and put Olivia in her arms, giving them both a kiss on the forehead. "We can leave tomorrow, it's just a short time away so you'll be fine." He paused before adding, "I'll be right back." He then left the room.

Isabelle let out a sigh before looking down at Olivia with a soft smile, it reaching her eyes. She really couldn't believe that her child was here and in her arms. For some reason she couldn't really believe she had a child, it had gone by really fast and it was like reality was finally setting in. But she knew she would protect Olivia with her life and she knew that Jared would too.

It wasn't long later when Abby showed and Isabelle motioned her forward.

"What is it?" Abby asked when she next to her and Jared had taken his seat next to Isabelle.

"I want you to hold Olivia. And I haven't seen you much. I just want to talk."

Abby let out a smirk, "yeah, it would be nice to talk. I haven't really been able to come here anyways. To much going on but I'm glad to be here now."

Abby motioned toward the baby and when Isabelle nodded, she picked Olivia up and held her in her arms. "She's so adorable. I can't wait to have my own."

Isabelle grinned at the thought, "our babies could be best friends if you happened to have but you would need to be pregnant first so I don't know if that's going to happen."

"Yeah, well about that," Abby said sheepishly, "reason why I've been gone so much was because I am pregnant. Please don't tell Luke, I haven't told him yet." She rushed out at the end.

Isabelle's eyes widened in surprise. "What?"

"I'm pregnant. So it looks like our babies are going to be best friends."
