Chapter 28: War (Part 2)

Mike only laughed at Isabelle as she hunched her shoulders threateningly, getting ready to attack him. He glanced over at Jared and heard him whimper which caused her to be distracted and he barreled into her, pinning her to the ground with a laugh.

Isabelle suddenly cowered in fear, remembering what happened the last time she was like this but in human form.

I need to be strong, she reminded herself and with that, she pushed him off with a growl, definitely not wanting him on her and wanting to kill him. He was going to get what he deserved.

"Ooo... I've seen you've gotten a little stronger and more feisty now, haven't we?" Mike laughed, "I like it. It will make this all the more fun for later. I of course am also going to have to attain your daughter to make this even more fun in the future. Can't have her taking over the pack when she's old enough now can we?"

Isabelle snarled and jumped at him. He ducked and rolled to the side to escape her claws. She disappeared, using the powers the moon goddess had given her to help defeat the beast of a wolf. One that was cruel. Not necessarily huge, but cruel.

She went in and clawed his side but he quickly counter productive and turned to her, slashing her. He hit her shoulder which instantly caused her to become visible again to the eye. "That's not going to fool me," he growled and he leaped at her this time.

She rolled also but managed to slash his belly while doing that, causing him a major injury. The difference between them was he wanted to keep her alive to use her for his own pleasure and she wanted him to die and stop wreaking havoc on their pack and any other wolf.

They kept going at it, each getting good shots in at each other, causing each other scratches and bruises. Jared was forced to watch pinned to the ground as he struggled to break free. He did once and was coming to help her but they caught him and used another wolf to help pin him down. It wasn't even a fair fight. If they would him go, he could easily over power them but since he was pinned on legs, tail, and body, he couldn't very well move.

They kept going until he managed to get a bad wound in on her side, causing her to fall down to the ground and not be able to get up for a few moments. Even with her advance healing exhilarating normal wolves, it wouldn't be enough. He leaned in closer to her, no emotion in his eyes now as he whispered. "I'm going to kill you and then your mate now. You're of no use now, especially since you will only keep fighting to get away. I'll just have to have only your daughter instead."

He raised his paw for the final death blow and Isabelle closed her eyes, accepting her fate, wishing it wasn't this way the vision had played out.

"No!" Jared roared and struggled much more heavily, causing the wolves to stumble off in surprise. He broke free and yelled, "you can't have her!" But Mike's paw was going down already.

(Pause. Or, at least I was thinking about it, but decided not to to be nice.)

Daniel suddenly jumped out of nowhere and barreled into Mike before he could deal the final blow, just a millisecond before it happened. He growled and before Mike could recover, he snapped his neck, neck with inhuman wolf speed. That was his power, speed and strength.

Isabelle's eyes widened in surprise as she looked at her brother. This was the vision that had played out, the one that was always going to happen. Daniel killing him instead of her.

Her healing finally finished and she stood up shakily. Jared came over and supported her. "You are never doing that again," he growled softly but with affection and licked her muzzle. "I'm glad you're alive." He'll fuss later over her injuries when he didn't have to support her anymore. It was kind of hard to look at her while doing that.

They traveled over to Daniel as he got off Mike and Isabelle put her head in his fur. "Thank you, so much Daniel. You can't tell how much this means to me."

Daniel put his muzzle to her head, "I didn't want to lose you. When I saw you, I couldn't bare the thought of loosing you. Not after I just got you. Besides, your nephew needs an aunt to watch after him and play with his cousin. He needs you to tease him when he's older." He reminded her of his son.

Isabelle nodded softly as the war was brought to a halt. The prophecy has been fulfilled. A wolf was dead and that wolf was Mike. It changed the entire game of what was happening. It was finally the end.

At the mention of children, Isabelle shot up. "Abby's having her baby right now! Come on! We have to hurry and see her!" A new burst of energy over took her and raced back to the cellar for Abby and her child.

Hey! Double update! How was it? Next chapter you'll find out the name of Abby's baby, yay! It's shorter than the last part but that's alright. It's a continuation and I was thinking about another part to the war but I decided against it and just kind of hurried up to the end of it. But who else is happy they get two updates in one night? That hasn't happened in forever.
