Isabelle stood up nervously as she held onto Olivia. She was now more nervous than she ever was before. This was now probably one of the most nerve wracking moments of her life. It wasn't much really, but for her, it was. She hated standing in front of big crowds, or in front of even a few people doing a report or something. Her voice would get high if she talked and even waver too.
Jared wrapped his arm around her waist as he walked out the back door with her. They weren't walking long before they reached a stage and they were standing right to the side.
"You're going to be fine," Jared told her reassuringly and stroked her cheek. He kissed her forehead and she could feel herself calming down under his touch. He always seemed to know what to do.
"I'm just glad I don't have to talk," Isabelle stated, "otherwise it would be a disaster. I'm not comfortable with everyone yet."
"That's why we are also introducing you to everyone today. It'll be great, don't worry." With that, they stepped up on the stage and Isabelle followed closely behind him, making sure to keep Olivia quiet.
She was petrified when she saw how many people there were. There had to be at least 400, maybe 500 counting the children. No way was she going to be able to talk to everyone today. They extended out around a big open field comfortable enough to fit everyone and more. Some of the children were playing in the back being kids.
Just then, Jared spoke up and said, "everyone. This is your Luna Isabelle. I hope for you to make her comfortable and treat her like you do me. Welcome her into the pack." He then said some more things, also introducing Olivia to them, after they were done clapping. Then he announced they would would mingle and talk to each one individually.
It seemed to go on forever to Isabelle. It was the longest day of her life for standing up on her feet all day, plus holding Olivia. She had to take a few breaks of course when Olivia started to fuss but that would be quickly solved and they would continue on. She couldn't wait for the day to end.
Everyone was very nice to them and she was glad when they made her feel welcomed. It made her much more comfortable than she was before.
They went to bed later that night, her exhausted. She was so glad the day was over and just wanted to sleep. It turned out better than she hoped it would be.
Jared wrapped his arm around her and with that, they fell asleep.
