Chapter 25: Birthday (Part 2)

"You will take care of Olivia while we're gone. Correct?" Isabelle asked for the millionth time.

"Trust me, we will," Abby grinned, "besides, it will give us practice to take care of our own baby when he or she comes."

"You better. If anything happens to her, I'm holding you personally responsible."

"Aye, Aye, captain!"Abby said and for added effect, gave a salute. "You can trust me."

"Thank you, now, I need to go." She kissed Olivia's head one more time and rushed to the door. She came to a stop when Abby called out to her, "and Iz? Happy birthday. Now go have fun!"

Isabelle grinned, "thanks." She then raced out the door and over to the car Jared was waiting in.

"So, can you please tell me now where we are going?" She had been bugging him all day where he was going to take her but he wouldn't tell her one thing.

"Nope, you won't find out until we get there!"

"Ugh!" She crossed her arms over her chest. "Why do you have to be so darn stubborn?"

He gave Isabelle an incredulous look. "Really, look who's talking."

"If I had a pillow right now, I would totally smack you upside the head with that comment. On second thought..." Smack!

"Hey! What was that for?" He rubbed the back of his head where her hand had smack him.

"Oh, you know perfectly well, now start driving."

"Yes ma'am." He then started driving to wherever it was they were going. Isabelle was going nuts not knowing. She hated not knowing but she usually loved what was at the end. This is why she both loved and hated surprises. Or maybe she could just be in one of her moods from less sleep than usual.

She barely got an once of sleep last night, mainly because she was so excited about what tonight would bring and Jared not telling her made it a little worse because she liked to know things. Not be out of the loop.

Now, she was just going to annoy Jared for the fun of it and Sarah agreed with her because he wouldn't tell them where or what they were doing. He wouldn't even give them a hint as to how they should dress. Was it fancy? Was it cold? Warm? Casual? No help at all.

"Are we there yet?"

"No."

"Are we there now?"

"No."

"Now?"

"No."

"Now?"

"No. We are almost there, so can you stop asking that?"

Isabelle turned with a satisfied smirk from getting on his nerves. "Fine." She sighed and looked out the window again.

She missed her baby, it was hard being apart from her. Abby and Luke better be taking care of her. She had no idea what she would do if something happened to her baby girl.

It was then that they pulled up on some sand and water in front of them. Wait. Where they at the beach?

"Why are we here Jared?"

"This is where I'm taking you for your birthday," he said a lopsided grin. "What do you think?"

"I love it!" Isabelle squealed and jumped in his arms, well, as much as she could in the car which was mainly just arms wrapped around his neck. "Thank you," she then gave him a short kiss before jumping out of the car. She looked around, she hadn't been to the ocean since she'd been kidnapped by him, and to think they lived an hour away without her knowing. But with Jared's driving, less than that.

Jared got of the car and came to her side. "Come on." He took a hold of her hand and led her down the beach, walking under the moonlight sky.

Isabelle leaned her head on his shoulder as they walked slowly down the beach till she saw some light in the distance. But she didn't take any notice of it, that was until they reached it and she saw a blanket surrounded by candles and food on top of it.

"This is lovely," she said with a soft smile and sat down on the blanket with Jared. "I love this, thank you. This all must have been hard work for you."

"Of course, I would do anything for you. I love you."

"I love you too."

Jared wrapped his hand around the back of her neck and just as his lips touched hers, a message came through the pack mind link.

Um boss, I think we might have a bit of a problem.

Sorry, you guys must hate me a little bit for not updating, and the cliffhanger, but here it is. Later than I said it would but many things happened, including not having internet because I went to my uncle's house on the lake and he has no wifi. But here you go! The next update! It's a bit different, but I thought some humor would be good. I'll try and update as soon as I can.
