Liam
"He's coming up. He just knocked out Tía Rosa. He looked pretty happy about it. Maybe some bad blood," I answered as she sighed in relief, calming her worry.

Suddenly, I heard a yell and Tessa was thrown back. Tyler's slimy hands punched my jaw, sending my staggering back and falling. My vision blurred for a minute as I tried to stand, the pain pounding against me.

I cursed at myself, hoping Laina was holding off okay. I quickly shook my head, wanting it to clear up faster. I staggered up but I just fell down again. I heard yells and grunts. My vision cleared after a few seconds and the first thing I saw was an unconscious Laina. Tyler was sitting over her, injecting his venom in her that Tessa told us about.

I saw Ronnie hanging on to the edge of the rooftop by his fingertips. He must've tried to save Laina and failed. "Help her!" He exclaimed with a bit of a strain. "Get me later!"

I nodded and I tackled Tyler to the ground before he could inject her with any more of his contaminated liquid. He gave a yell when his head slammed onto the ground and he was out cold.

I sprinted to Ronnie and I barely pulled him up. "Thanks," He said, stretching his fingers.

I nodded, running back to Laina. There was a bit of blood on the side of her neck from the shot. I ran my hands through my hair angry that I couldn't keep her safe.

I heard her heartbeat which was good but it was slowing down. Tessa came next to us. She saw the blood and immediately screamed in frustration. "There has to be a way to save her!" She cried.

"Hey!" We heard a call and we saw Tía Rosa stomp to us. She raised her gun to us as Ronnie stood up. She pressed the trigger but nothing came out. Ronnie held up all her reload bullets and threw it off the roof, his eyes dark. She glared at him. "You're getting smarter."

"And you're getting older. Are those a few gray hairs I see?" Ronnie retorted.

She lunged at him and he quickly dodged. She landed on the ground, rolling. However, she rolled off the roof and the only thing that kept her alive was her holding onto a window sill.

Ronnie stood there, look down at her as she struggled. I knew he was having a mental war whether to save her or not. Then he reached down, holding his hand out.

She seemed surprised at first and then she grabbed it. Ronnie was having a hard time pulling her up. I went over and grabbed her wrist, but she was heavy. She almost slipped out of our grasp and we barely pulled her up by an inch. "Tessa!" I called. She ran over and helped us.

With a yell from all of us, we pulled her over, gasping. She sat up, wiping her brow. "I didn't think you niños would save me," She said breathlessly.

"Killing or leaving people to die isn't how we do things," Ronnie replied, looking at the ground.

"I appreciate it. You are brave, just like your parents. For my thanks, I will stop trying to kill you," she said. "And the girl, this would save her." She pulled out a bottle. "She will have to excrete the poison. I never trusted that snake and I was worried he would poison me, so I made an antidote."

"Gracias," Ronnie said without looking up as I took the bottle.

"A life for a life," she said. "That is what the Reynardos do."

She stood up and threw something at Tyler and he disappeared, just like what that woman did to the men when my uncle died. She walked away.

"Tía," Ronnie called.

"Yes?" She said.

"Por que?" He said, his brown eyes meeting her eyes that were completely identical to his.
