I decided to just try, I could hold off until Ronnie and Tessa come. I ran off the porch and past the gate while grabbing a rock from the ground. Then I threw the rock as hard as I could through the window. The rock smashed through the window and into the back of one of the guard's head, whose back was turned to me. He fell over, knocked unconscious. It's a good thing they weren't wearing helmets.

The family gasped and the three guards started shooting me and I quickly ran to the side. I heard the glass break from their bullets. Suddenly, I heard the woman order two of her men to go after me. Their bullets must've broken the machine blocking my senses.

I raced away as I heard their stomps come after me. Suddenly a car pulled up next to me and Ronnie jumped out. "Tessa's almost here!" He said, pulling me behind his car as the men began shooting us. We dodged them and they hit his car instead. "Darn it! That was a new car!"

Then a bright red car came speeding toward us and slammed into one guard, knocking him out. The second one was distracted by it and I took it as a chance to lunge at him as Tessa jumped out.

I grabbed his gun, kicking his stomach, causing him to stagger back. I threw his gun to the side, it was too heavy for me to use anyway.

Ronnie punched him. "I got this one! You two hurry and go help Liam!"

I ran back to the house with Tessa ahead of me. She ripped the doorknob, since it was locked, and kicked the door opened. She quickly used it as a shield as the guard began firing. I grabbed a rock, nodding to her.

We waited until the firing stop and for the guard to reload. Then she pushed the door opened and I threw the rock at the guard. It smacked his nose, breaking it. He staggered back, yelling in pain. Then Tessa tackled him down.

The masked woman pulled out a pistol and began shooting at me. I quickly zigzagged, dodging as I came closer to her. I grabbed her wrist, pushing it upwards so that she shot the ceiling. I grabbed the gun and threw it away.

I punched her face and she fell back. I turned around and sat down next to Liam. "Are you okay?" I asked, looking at his injuries.

"I think I fractured my wrist a bit. It's healing though."

I glanced at the door as Ronnie ran in and Tessa helping Mr. LiCastri comfort his wife.

I touched his wrist gently and he winced. I massaged it gently, remembering my father's training. "Yeah, it's not too bad. With your superhealing, you'll be fine by tomorrow."

He nodded weakly. "Laina!" He cried suddenly as his mother screamed.

I turned to find a knife whizzing at me. I could dodge it, but if I dodged it, it would hit Miss LiCastri. I had my superhealing and I could heal faster than her. I squeezed my eyes shut, getting ready for the pain.

Suddenly, two hands shoved me aside and I fell across the floor as I heard a small gasp. I sat up to find Mr. Luke falling to the ground with the knife embedded in his chest. "No!" I said as Liam struggled over to his side.

I ran over, turning him over to his stomach as Ronnie lunged at the woman. However, she pressed something on her wrist and her and her four men with their equipment flashed away. I was too busy to worry about how they did that.

I gently tugged at the knife but for some reason, it wasn't coming out. They must've put some new technology in the weapon, making it stay stuck in there.

"You shouldn't have!" I said as he coughed. I knew that he was dying. The knife was right in his heart. "I have my superhealing, I would've healed!"

He shook his head with a weak smile. "I'm not letting them hurt my future daughter-in-law."

"Do something!" Liam demanded next to me.

"I-I can't..." I whispered as I heard Mr. LiCastri call for an ambulance.

"You're useless." Liam pushed me away roughly and grabbed his hand. I hit the floor a second time, hurt filled me and I quickly ignored it. My feelings weren't important at the moment. I pushed myself up, rubbing my shoulder which had hit the ground pretty hard.

"Don't treat her like that," Mr. Luke croaked.

Liam pressed their clasped hands to his forehead. "Just stay with us, the ambulance is almost here."

I came back to his side and he made me grab his other hand. I could tell he was running out of time, his heartbeat was slowing and I felt so helpless.

"I'm sorry," I choked as I felt tears brim my eyes. "Please don't die. I've lost too many people already."

"Why are you sorry?" He said.

"I don't know what to do to save you. And I should."

"Laina, it's meant for my time to come to an end. I can feel it. It's not your fault, understand?"

I nodded just to make him happy. "Please don't go."

"You have your necklace, correct?" He said as I heard the faint noise of the ambulance.

I nodded again.

"Liana," he called and Miss LiCastri came to his side, tears streaming down her face even harder. "Make sure these two get married, okay? I'm sorry I won't be able to see your wedding. If you two don't get together, my spirit will haunt you both."

"Stop, you'll see it!" Liam promised as he cried. "Just hold off for a little longer, the ambulance is almost here."

His uncle smiled. "Treat each other well, okay?"

I nodded just so that he could die in peace, knowing the ambulance wouldn't get here in time. His eyes closed slowly and he took a deep and painful breath. His hold on my hand went limp and dropped to the ground.

"Uncle?" Liam called, shaking him. "Uncle!"

The ambulance pulled up into the driveway and they ran in. They took him away and Liam quickly tried to reach for him, yelling. I quickly pulled my arms around him, keeping him still as we both cried.

He tried to fight me but his body soon fell slack in my arms and he cried into my shoulder, shaking. "I'm going to kill them," he said. "I'm going to kill them all!"

I stroked his back, trying to calm him. "You're okay. You're okay," I said into his ear.

"I will shred every one of them to pieces. I'll bring hell to every single Executor."
