Liam
I quietly went into the house and tried to gently close the door with my foot. I went up the carpeted stairs and to my room. I placed her on my bed and suddenly there was a knock on the door, making my heart jump. I slowly turned, dreading what was going to happen next. "Hi, mom."

"What do you have there?"

"Nothing."

She turned the lights on. "Liam, do you have something to tell me?"

"Uh..."

"Why exactly do you have a passed out girl on your bed?"

"Uh..."

"I thought you were at a party."

"I was! She just..." I had no idea how to piece the story together and tell it to my mother in the safest way possible.

"Why don't we come out to talk?"

I reluctantly went out, closing the door.

"Care to explain?" Her arms were crossed, not a good sign.

"Mom, before you get angry, I did not do anything bad to her, okay? We were at the party and this boy drugged her and tried to...you know."

My mom's pissed face turned into a sympathetic one. "Poor girl, did you beat the crap out of that kid?"

I smiled. "Yeah, I did."

"That's my boy." She ruffled my hair.

"Mom!" I said, fixing my hair. "Stop doing that, I'm not a kid!"

"Well, you're my kid so I'm going to keep doing that. I'm going to go in and change her clothes." Then she stared at my hand. "Are you bleeding?!"

I looked down and realized there were still pieces of glass in my hand, not letting the wound heal. "Don't worry, I'll just clean it, it's fine."

"Well...alright. I'm going to go and- why are you looking at me like that?"

"I didn't think you were serious about changing her."

"What? You want to change her clothes?"

My face burned. "Mom!"

"Stop screaming! You'll wake your father and uncle up."

I sighed as she went in. I went down to clean up my hand. Then I filled up a glass of water and got some painkillers for Laina in the morning, knowing the drug will have after effects. By the time I came back up, my mom came back out with a smirk on her face. "She's a pretty one," she said. "You've got good taste."

I almost choked on my own saliva. "I'm not dating her!"

"Never said you were. She can eat breakfast with us- oh, she's wearing your clothes right now. I hope you don't mi-"

"What?!" This time, I did choke on my saliva.

"All my clothes are in the wash, so I used yours. Good night, don't sleep too late- don't sleep with her either." With that, she left. I really do hate my family sometimes.

I went into my room to find Laina tucked into my bed. I put the water and painkillers on the nightstand next to her. I got some extra blankets and a pillow, walking out and downstairs. I didn't mind spending a night on the couch for Laina. Honestly, I didn't mind doing anything for her.

Laina
I woke up to the sound of showering with my head pounding against my skull. I saw some painkillers and a glass of water and I quickly swallowed a pill, gulping down the whole glass of water.
